본 연구는 미․중 무역전쟁 상황에서 우리나라의 주요 수출품 중 IT산업의 대표 품목인 반도체와 디스플레이를 대상으로 산업내무역지수와 수출경합도지수를 사용하여 대미국 수출경쟁력을 연구한다. IT제품(반도체와 평판디스플레이)이 해상운송보다는 항공운송 비중이 높은 점을 감안하여 산업내무역지수는 전체수출에 대한 산업내무역지수와 항공화물수출에 대한 산업내무역지수로 나누어 연구하였다. 또한 미중 무역전쟁이 2018년 본격적으로 시작한 점을 감안하여 2015-2017년과 2018-2020년 기간으로 나누어 미․중 무역전쟁 전후의 반도체와 디스플레이의 대미국 수출경쟁력을 연구한다. 분석결과를 요약하면, 첫째, 2015년부터 2017년 기간에 대미국 산업내무역지수는 8523, 8529, 8531, 8543, 9017 품목의 수치가 높고, 2018년부터 2020년 기간의 산업내무역지수는 8523 품목이 큰 폭으로 하락하였다. 둘, 2015년부터 2017년 기간에 항공화물수출 대미국 산업내무역지수는, 8523, 8529, 8531, 8541 품목의 산업내무역지수가 높고, 2018년부터 2020년 기간의 항공화물수출 산업내무역지수는 8522, 8529, 8541 품목의 산업내무역지수가 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 한국과 미국의 반도체와 디스플레이에 대한 수출경합도지수는 평균 0.05로 나타났다. 2015년 0.049, 2016-2019년 0.048를 보이다가 2020년 0.056으로 증가하여 한국과 미국의 수출경합도가 점차 강화되고 있는 것으로 분석되었다.
This study examined our competitive power of export to the United States under the Trade Warfare Between The United States and China using IIT and ESI, giving a focus on semi-conductors and display as representative export items of IT industry. In consideration higher weight of air transport of IT products (semi-conductors and flat plane display), this study categorized IIT into IIT on entire export and IIT on air freight export. Also considering that the Trade Warfare Between The United States and China was activated from 2018, this study examined competitive power of export in semi-conductors and display industry to the United States between the two different periods: 2015 and 2017, and 2018 and 2020. The results are summarized: First, as for IIT to the United States between 2015 and 2017, the values of 8523, 8529, 8531, 8543 and 9017 were high. As for IIT between 2018 and 2020, the value of 8523 decreased drastically. Second, as for IIT of air freight export to the United States between 2015 and 2017, the values of 8523, 8529, 8531 and 8541 were higher. As for IIT of air freight export to the United States between 2018 and 2020, the values of 8522, 8529 and 8541 were higher. Third, the mean ESI in semi-conductors and display industry between south Korean and the United States was 0.05. It was 0.049 in 2015, 0.048 between 2016 and 2019, and 0.056 in 2020, which indicates that the ESI between South Korea and the United States has been gradually reinforced.
