연구목적: 본 연구는 아동이 지각하는 부모의 애정적 양육태도와 과잉간섭이 아동의 자아존중감을 매개로 숙달목적지향성에 미치는 종단적인 영향을 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 「한국아동․청소년패널 2010」의 초등학교 4학년 패널의 1차-3차년도 자료를 활용하여, 1차년도 (2010년) 자료 기준 초등학교 4학년 아동 총 2,165명을 대상으로 하였다. 구조방정식모형을 설정하여 변인 간의 구조적인 관계를 분석하였으며, 간접효과의 유의성 검정을 위하여 부트스트래핑 방법을 사용하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 초등학교 4학년 아동이 지각한 부모의 애정적 양육태도는 초등학교 6학년 시기의 아동의 숙달목적지향성에 유의한 직접적인 영향을 미친 반면, 부모의 과잉간섭은 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았다. 즉, 초등학교 4학년 때 부모가 애정적이라고 지각할수록 6학년 때 아동의 숙달목적지향성이 높았다. 둘째, 초등학교 4학년 시기의 부모의 애정적 양육태도와 과잉간섭은 초등학교 5학년 시기의 아동의 자아존중감을 통해 6학년 시기의 숙달목적지향성에 미치는 간접적인 영향이 유의하여, 자아존중감의 매개효과가 나타 났다. 즉, 초등학교 4학년 때 부모가 애정적이고 덜 간섭한다고 지각할수록 초등학교 5학년 때 아동의 자아 존중감이 높아지고, 높아진 자아존중감은 초등학교 6학년 때 숙달목적지향성을 높이는 데 영향을 미쳤다. 결론: 본 연구는 부모의 양육태도가 아동의 숙달목적지향성에 미치는 종단적인 영향을 살펴보았으며, 그과정에서 아동의 자아존중감의 매개적 역할을 밝혔다. 이를 통해 아동의 숙달목적지향성 향상을 위한 부모의 역할과 아동의 내적인 요인의 중요성을 시사한다.
Objective: This study aimed to examine the longitudinal effects of affective parenting and parental intrusiveness on children’s mastery goal orientation, and to verify the mediating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between affective parenting and parental intrusiveness and children’s mastery goal orientation. Methods: The participants were 2,165 children from the 1 st to 3 rd wave of the 4 th grader panel of Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2010. Data were analyzed using a structural equation model, and a bootstrapping method was used to test the statistical significance of the mediation. Results: First, affective parenting had a longitudinal direct effect on children’s mastery goal orientation. Second, both affective parenting and parental intrusiveness had significant longitudinal indirect effects on children’s mastery goal orientation through self-esteem. Self-esteem mediated the relationship between affective parenting and parental intrusiveness, and children’s mastery goal orientation. Conclusions: The results of this study showed the longitudinal effects of affective parenting on children’s mastery goal orientation and the mediating effect of self-esteem. The findings of this study highlight the importance of parenting and self-esteem.
