본 연구는 다문화청소년의 집단괴롭힘 피해와 학업성취의 관계에서 외모만족도와 우울감의 이중매개효과를 검증하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 다문화청소년패널조사(Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study: MAPS) 7차와 8차 조사에 모두 참여한 청소년 961명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 분석을 위해 PROCESS macro의 모델 6을 활용하여 매개효과 검증을 실시하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 다문화청소년의 집단괴롭힘 피해는 학업성취에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화청소년의 외모만족도는 집단괴롭힘 피해와 학업성취의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 분석되었다. 셋째, 다문화청소년의 우울감은 집단괴롭힘 피해와 학업성취의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 분석되었다. 넷째, 다문화청소년의 집단괴롭힘 피해와 학업성취의 관계에서 외모만족도와 우울감의 이중매개효과가 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 다문화청소년의 학업성취 발달을 위한 실천적 방안에 대해 논하였다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the double-mediation effects of appearance satisfaction and depression in the relationship between victimization of being bullied and academic achievement among multicultural adolescents. For this purpose, the data of 961 adolescents who participated in both the seventh and eighth surveys of the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study(MAPS) was used. PROCESS macro’s Model 6 was conducted to verify the mediation effects. The results were as follows. First, the victimization of being bullied affected academic achievement. Second, appearance satisfaction among multicultural adolescents mediated the relationship between victimization of being bullied and academic achievement. Third, depression in multicultural adolescents mediated the relationship between victimization of being bullied and academic achievement. Fourth, appearance satisfaction and depression had double-mediation effects in the relationship between victimization of being bullied and academic achievement. Based on these findings, practical measures for the development of academic achievement among multicultural adolescents were discussed.
