한국문학의 전통교육을 개선하기 위한 첫걸음은 혼란한 전통 개념을 재정립하는 것에서 출발한다. 전통은 우리의 유구한 무엇을 의미하는 내용적 개념과 변화·적용한다는 철학적 배경에 기반한 성격적 개념이 혼재되어 있다. 이 두 개념을 조화하면서 각각의 한계를 보완할 수 있도록 전통을 개념화하고자 할 때, ‘문화’를 그 구심점으로 삼을 수 있다. 문화를 교육한다는 전제로 출발한 문화적 문식성의 연구 흐름에 따라 문화는 통시적(수직적)인 양태와 공시적(수평적)인 양태를 아우르는 면(面)의 성격과, 실천성이 강조된다. 이에 따라 문화의 성격을 기반으로 재개념화한 전통·문화는 실천적·연속적인 성격을 갖추며 동시에 하위 특질들을 묶을 수 있는 문학적인 구심 역할을 하게 된다. 그러한 전통·문화의 가능성을 ‘문학적 소통’과 관련해 살필 수 있다. 본 연구는 특히 한국적인 전통 요소의 하나로 인식되어 가치가 있으나, 진지한 고찰이 부족했던 흥(興)을 전통·문화로서 검토하고자 했다. 소통의 실천 속에 문학적인 가치를 재구성하는 문학적 소통의 자질은 문학적 언어, 요소, 행위를 기반으로 이루어지며, 흥은 외부 대상과의 만남으로 일어나는 내적 상승 작용을 문학적으로 관찰·묘사하고 정서로 의미화하며 텍스트를 통해 지속적으로 환기된다는 점에서 그 자질을 갖추고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 문학적 소통으로 전통·문화의 본질과 구체적 원리, 양상의 후속 연구를 통해 한국문학 전통교육의 발전적 논의를 이어갈 수 있을 것이다.
The first step for improving the education of traditional elements of Korean literature begins with re-conceptualization of “tradtion”. This term can be confusing, as it includes a concept that refers to “something” in which we have long lived and a concept based on a philosophical background that proves tradition’s potential for change. When we harmonize the two concepts and re-conceptualize “tradition”, “culture” can be the focal point. According to the cultural literacy, culture is emphasized by the form of the vertical(historical)-horizontal(contemporary) aspects and its practicality. Then the re-conceptualized term “traditonal-cultural elements” also reflect those aspects and do the role of literary-centrifugal point of lower things. And We can find the possibility of the term by the concept “literary communication”. Some literary values can be always reorganized by that communication, and the communication is operated by factors of literary qualities. “Heung(興)” as a mental effects, is also operated by those literary factors such as literary sense and the language expression which raise forming of literary emotions, and the text(work) which can deliver emotions. When we can give shape to the concept and the principle of the term above, there would be the improvement of Korean literature education which deals tradtional things.
