본 연구는 다문화 시대 교육현장에서 유아교사들의 다문화 교육태도와 다문화 역량 간의 관계에서 의사소통능력이 주는 매개효과에 대해 탐색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 T광역시 유아교사 400명을 대상으로 2021년 3월부터 5월까지 설문조사를 통해 자료를 수집하고 SPSS 23.0으로 기술통계와 상관분석을 AMOS 23.0을 활용하여 구조방정식모델을 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과 첫째, 다문화 교육태도는 다문화 역량과 의사소통능력에 유의미한 긍정적 영향을 미치었다. 둘째, 유아교사의 의사소통능력은 교육태도와 다문화 역량의 관계를 부분매개하는 효과가 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 이러한 연구결과는 유아교사의 다문화 역량 향상을 위해서는 다문화 교육태도와 의사소통능력의 강화를 위한 지원의 필요성을 시사해 주고 있다.
The purpose of this study is to explore the mediating effect of communication abilities on the relationship between multicultural education attitudes and multicultural competency of early childhood teachers in the educational field in the multicultural era. For this purpose, data were collected through a survey from Mar. to May 2021 from 400 early childhood teachers in T metropolitan city, and descriptive statistics and correlation analysis were analyzed using AMOS 23.0. Main results are as follows. First, multicultural education attitude had a significant positive effect on multicultural competency and communication ability. Second, the communication ability of teachers was verified to have the effect of partially mediating the relationship between educational attitude and multicultural competency. The results of this study suggest the need for support for strengthening multicultural education attitudes and communication abilities in order to improve the multicultural competency of early childhood teachers.
