본 논문은 최근 30여 년간 영미 신학계를 중심으로 전개된 선교적 해석학(Missional Hermeneutics) 운동이, 선교 중심 대학을 표방해 온 ACTS의 신학및 신앙 운동에 지니는 함의들을 신약학 중심으로 살펴본 글이다. 논문의전반부에서는 선교적 해석학 운동의 흐름을 크게 세 가지로 구분하여 살핀다. (1)성경의 선교적 방향성 찾기, (2)성경을 하나님의 선교를 위한 역사적 도구로 읽기, (3)특정 문화 속에서 성경과 대화하는 원리 찾기의 흐름들을 소개하면서 각각이 지니는 해석학적 강조점들을 설명한다. 논문의 후반부에서는 선교적 해석학 관점에서 ACTS 신학공관 운동을 돌아본다. 첫째로, 선교적 해석학이 ACTS 신학공관의 중심진리에 지니는 함의를 논한다. 필자는 하나의 명제로 표현된 중심진리는 그 해석을 위해 하나의 이야기 문맥을 요구하며, 하나님의 선교 이야기가 그 해석학적 틀을 제공해 줄 수 있다고 제안한다. 둘째로, 선교적 해석학이 ACTS 성경신학 및 신약학에 지니는 함의를 논한다. 필자는 ‘열방’이라는 단어뒤에 전제되어 있는 문화적 다양성과 선교적 상황화를 의식하는 신약 읽기를 제안하면서, 특정 문화 속에서 죄, 복음, 구원이 지니는 구체적 의미를 탐구하는 것이 신약학의 실천적 과제임을 제시한다. 셋째로, ACTS 신앙운동, 교회운동과의 연관성 속에서 선교적 해석학의 함의를 찾는다. 필자는 ACTS 공동체가 하나님의 선교 이야기가 지니는 신앙 형성적 기능에 주목할 것과, 통합 신학의 방향성 속에서 신학적 다양성과 일치성을조화시켜 나갈 것을 제안한다. 결론적으로, 이 논문은 ACTS 공동체 전체가 같은 이야기, 곧 하나님의 선교 이야기에 붙잡혀 신학 및 신앙 운동을펼쳐 나갈 비전을 제시한다.
This paper explores the implications missional hermeneutics has on ACTS, a mission-centered academic institute, and its theological synoptic movement. The first half of this paper surveys three main streams of missional hermeneutics, which highlight (1)the missional direction of the Bible, (2)the historical and missional background of the biblical writings, and (3)the dialogue between the biblical text and diverse cultural contexts within the matrix of gospel. The second half of this paper puts the ACTS theological synoptic movement into dialogue with missional hermeneutics. First, it discusses the Central Truth of ACTS theological synopsis from the perspective of missional hermeneutics. This paper argues that the Central Truth, expressed in the form of a proposition, requires a narrative context for its proper understanding and finds a proper hermeneutical framework in the story of the mission of God. Second, this paper discusses the direction of ACTS biblical theology and NT theology with the insight of missional hermeneutics. It suggests a NT study which emphasizes the word ‘all nations’ in the Bible, cultural diversity, and missional contextualization within the NT writings themselves. It also proposes to search for particular meanings of sin, gospel, and salvation within a specific culture. Third, this paper discusses the ACTS faith and church renewal movement with the help of missional hermeneutics. It proposes to pay attention to the faithshaping role of the story of the mission of God, and to maintain both theological diversity and unity in the direction of integrated theology. In conclusion, this paper casts a vision of an ACTS community captured by the same story, the story of the mission of God.
