본 논문의 목적은 WEA 논쟁을 이해하고, ACTS 신학공관의 관점으로성찰/제안하는 것이다. 이를 위하여, 다음의 연구 과정을 따르고자 한다. 첫째, WEA의 신학적 정체성과 연합과 관련된 원리와 지침이 무엇인지WEA 신앙고백 문서들을 통해 살펴본다. 둘째, WEA 논쟁을 이해함에있어, 본격적으로 한국의 신학자들이 WEA의 위원으로 가입하는 2010년대 이후부터 최근 양측의 논쟁이 팽팽하게 진행되고 있는 2020년까지의기간으로 한정하고자 한다. 그리고 그러한 기간 동안, WEA 문제에 관심을 가진 사람들 혹은 단체들은 누구이며, 그들이 어떠한 상황 속에서 그러한 주장을 하였는지 살펴봄으로서 WEA 논쟁을 이해하고자 한다. 셋째, 기독교 중심 진리 강조, 바른 신학, 교회연합운동, 참 신앙인 양육운동, 교회 회복 운동이라는 ACTS 신학공관의 관점들의 도움을 얻어, 앞선장들에서 도출된 사항들을 성찰하고자 한다. 넷째, WEA와 관련된 문제해결을 위한 몇 가지 제언을 시도한다. 다섯째, 앞선 논의를 간략히 정리하고, 필자의 의견과 본 논문이 주는 의의와 한계를 언급하고자 한다.
The purpose of this paper attempts to understand and reflect the WEA debate in the Korean Church, and makes suggestions through ACTS Theological Synopsis. To achieve this end, this paper explores the WEA’s theological identity and principles and resolutions for unity, focusing on documents of faith statement. it further describes how and why select figures and groups interpreted WEA in specific ways, focusing on their academic background, the community of involvement, and the context of interpreting the WEA. Section four speculates on the result investigating the WEA's identity in terms of the ACTS Theological Synopsis. The paper makes some suggestions for solving the WEA’s problem. Lastly, I offer my opinion on the WEA debate, and recognize the strengths and weaknesses of the paper.
