목적 이 연구는 만 5세의 여자 유아(민지)가 일상에서 볼 수 있는 풍경과 사물(예, 바다, 꽃, 나무 등)과 TV 매체를 통해 자발적으로그린 그림과 점토 만들기 활동을 해석하여 유아의 통합적이고 고유한 측면을 다루었다. 방법 2014년 12월부터 2017년 2월까지 민지가 그렸던 그림과 점토 놀이 결과물을 대상으로 질적으로 분석하였으며 민지 엄마를대상으로 2018년 6월부터 8월 사이에 네 차례 만나서 그림과 점토 결과물을 보면서 당시의 상황, 맥락 등에 대하여 면담을 진행하였다. 결과 민지는 그림을 통해 자연 속의 풍경과 사물에 대한 이미지를 역동적이고 자신이 받은 인상대로 창의적으로 표현하는 패턴을보여주었다. 그리고 TV 매체 또는 동화책에서 본 이야기와 이미지 등 자신이 관심있는 것을 나름대로 표현함으로써 그림과 점토놀이를 통한 내면의 확장성을 보여주었다. 결론 민지의 사례에서 부각되는 유아의 고유한 측면을 통합적으로 조망하였으며 민지의 그림 및 점토 놀이에 대한 질적 분석 결과가유아 대상의 미술교육에 주는 시사점을 제시하였다.
Objectives This study tried to qualitatively interpret voluntary drawings and clay-making activities of a 5-year-old girl (Minji) from a holistic viewpoint. Methods Data collection included her own drawings and clay-making works from December 2014 to February 2017. Also, interviews with her mother were carried out four times between June and August 2018 by asking follow-up questions about the situation and contexts of her drawing and clay activities. Results Minji showed a dynamic, creative pattern of expressing images of landscapes and objects in nature through her paintings according to the impressions she felt. In addition, she showed her inner expansion through painting and clay playing by expressing her own interests. It turned out that reading stories in children's books or watching TV animation also affected her playing with drawing and clay making. Conclusions This paper explored Minji’s unique aspects of art creating caught from real-world experiences or her own imagination. This case indicated some implications for improving other infants’ or children’s art-related activities in the area of art education
