1968년을 정점으로 세계를 뒤흔든 68운동의 서사는 상당부분 서구중심주의에 사로잡혀 왔다. 제3세계는 유럽과 미국의 학생운동 진영에서 중요한 이슈였지만 막상 68운동을 다루는 대다수 연구는 유럽과 미국을 그 서사의 중심에 놓아온 것이다. 본고는 이런 문제의식 하에 독일 68운동의 결정적인 폭발점으로 불리는 ‘6월 2일 사건’에서 ‘이란학생연합’(CISNU)의 활동과 역할을 재구성한다. CISNU는 유럽과 미국을 아우르는 이란의 국제적 학생조직으로 이란의 샤 독재정권에 맞서는 해외 저항운동의 거점이었다. 독일에서 CISNU의 활동은 샤의 서독 국빈방문을 계기로 점화된 반대시위의 조직화와 관련해 특히 눈부셨다. CISNU는 독일 학생조직과의 공조활동 속에서 이란 내부의 독재와 억압에 대한 계몽활동을 통해 이란문제를 독일 68운동의 쟁점으로 만들고 샤의 서독 국빈방문 반대시위를 선도적으로 조직했다. 독일사회주의학생연합(SDS)을 비롯한 학생조직들은 CISNU와의 공조활동을 통해 정부의 이란 독재정권 지지를 비판하고 제3세계 국제연대를 선언의 차원에서 실행의 영역으로 끌어올렸다. 이렇게 CISNU와 독일 학생운동의 공조는 서로에게 추가적 상승효과를 부여하는 ‘호혜적인 연대활동’의 전형이 되었다. 본고는 독일 학생 저항운동의 제3세계 연대에서 핵심 요소였던 CISNU의 활동과 목소리를 복원함으로써 독일 68운동의 ‘새로운 얼굴’을 드러냈다. 나아가 이는 유럽중심주의 시각을 벗어나 68운동의 전체 서사를 숙고하고 재구성하는 출발점이 될 것이다.
In this article, the activities and roles of the “Confederation of Iranian Student/National Union” (CISNU) are reconstructed in the “Incident of 2 June,” which is called the decisive explosion point of the 68’ Movement in Germany. CISNU is Iran's international student organization and was the base for foreign protests against Iran's Shah dictatorship. CISNU's activities in Germany were particularly struck in connection with the organizing of protests ignited in the wake of the Shah's state visit to West Germany in 1967. In cooperation with German student organizations, CISNU turned the Iranian issue into an issue of the 68’ Movement in Germany and organized protests against the Shah's state visit to West Germany through the enlightenment of internal dictatorship and repression. Student organizations, including the German Socialist Student Union (SDS), criticized, through cooperative activities with CISNU, the West German government's support for the Iranian dictatorship and raised the Third World International Solidarity from the dimension of declaration to the realm of practice. In this way, the cooperation between CISNU and the German student movement became a solidarity activity for each other, giving each other an additional synergistic effect.
