본 연구는 사하라 이남 아프리카의 ICT 스타트업 창업생태계 주요 구성요소에 관한 연구로 “사하라 이남 아프리카 ICT 스타트업 창업생태계에서 어떤 요소들이 중요할까?”라는 문제에 대해 답을 하기 위해 나이지리아, 케냐, 남아프리카공화국을 중심으로 연구를 진행하였다. 국내외 문헌조사와 국내외 창업생태계 전문가의 FGI를 통해 주요 구성요소를 설계 후, 사하라 이남 아프리카의 창업생태계의 전문가를 대상으로 2차 델파이 조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 정책(Policy), 금융(Finance), 문화(Culture), 시장(Market), 자원(Resource), 지원(Support), 지식(Knowledge), 인프라(Infrastructure)의 8개 도메인에서 17개 카테고리, 41개의 사하라 이남 아프리카의 ICT 스타트업 창업생태계 주요 구성요소가 도출되었다. 본 연구는 전 세계적으로 아프리카 창업생태계에 관한 관심이 커지고 있는 상황에서, ICT 스타트업 창업생태계 주요 구성요소를 제시하여 학술 및 정책적으로 큰 시사점을 제시한 의의가 있다.
This research aims to set the main determinants of entrepreneurial ecosystem for digital (ICT) start-ups in Sub-Saharan Africa. After identifying preliminary determinants through literature review and focus group interview (FGI) of five experts from the start-up ecosystem, a Delphi survey was conducted with 20 experts from Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa. As a result, eight domains were extracted from the survey: Policy, Finance, Culture, Market, Resource, Support, Knowledge, and Infrastructure in 17 categories and 41 determinants of the entrepreneurial ecosystem for ICT start-ups in Sub-Saharan Africa. This research has both academic and policy implications in that it brings attention to the determinats of the ICT startup’s entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sub-Saharan Africa.
