2019년 5월에 발생한 대림동 여경사건은 지금까지 경찰조직 내에서 남녀 경찰의 업무수행 능력에 대해 논의되어왔던 것을 사회 전체의 문제로 확산시킨 사건이다. 해당 사건을 계기로 ‘여경 무용론’이 대두되면서, 사회 여론 내에 여경의 필요성 자체를 부인하는 극단적인 목소리가 확산되었다. 이 문제에 대한 실제 뉴스나 미디어나 사람들은 어떻게 생각하고 있는지를 데이터를 수집하여 알아보고, 이에 대해 조직 내에서 필요함에도 불구하고 어떻게 해결할 것인지 방안을 찾고자 한다. 이를 위해 네이버 뉴스에서 ‘대림동 여경’ 키워드가 포함된 뉴스 기사 총 662건과 해당 기사들에 달린 146,007건의 댓글 데이터 및 26,791건의 대댓글 데이터를 연구 대상으로 선정하였다. 데이터 수집 기간은 첫 기사가 보도되었던 2019년 5월 17일부터 수집 당시였던 2021년 2월 1일까지, 약 1년 9개월에 해당한다. 수집된 대림동 여경 관련 데이터를 바탕으로 키워드 빈도분석, TF-IDF(Term Frequency- Inverse Document Frequency) 분석, 의미 네트워크 분석 방법(Semantic Network Analysis, SNA) 등을 이용하여 해당 문제에 대한 실제 미디어와 대중들의 시각을 파악해보고자 하였다. 분석결과, 미디어(뉴스기사)는 해당 사건에 대해 정보제공의 역할을 수행함과 동시에 ‘남성/여성의 젠더 이슈’로 집중적으로 보도했다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 댓글과 대댓글의 경우 그 둘의 분석결과가 매우 유사하게 도출되었다. 댓글 대댓글의 출현빈도, TF-IDF 값 분석을 수행한 결과, 대중들이 대림동 여경사건을 성별의 문제로 받아들이고 있는 듯하였고, 페미니즘, 여성 혐오와 같은 극단적 성적 논쟁으로까지 이어지는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 여경에 대한 정부방침과 이를 둘러싼 제도적 부분에 대해 문제를 제기하며 비판하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 피의자 인권의 과잉보호, 경찰들의 적극적인 직무집행, 경찰의 진압 도구 허용 범위 확대 등의 정책 방향을 제시하였다.
The Daerim-dong female police officers incident (Daerim-dong Alcohol Violence Case), which occurred in May 2019, has spread what has been discussed in the police organization about the ability of male and female police to perform their duties to society as a whole. As the "female police uselessness" emerged in the wake of the incident, extreme voices denying the need for female police officers itself spread within social opinion. We collect data to find out what the real news, media, and people think about this issue, and we want to find a way to solve it. To this end, Naver News selected a total of 662 news articles containing the keyword "Daerim-dong Female Police" and 146,007 comment data and 26,791 comment data on the articles as subjects of the study. The data collection period is about a year and nine months from May 17, 2019, when the first article was reported to February 1, 2021, when it was collected. Based on the collected data on Daerim-dong policewoman, we use keyword frequency analysis, Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) analysis, Semantic Network Analysis (SNA) According to the analysis results, the media (news articles) played the role of providing information on the case and reported it intensively as a 'gender issue for men/women'. In the case of comments and comments, the results of the two analyses were very similar. After analyzing the frequency of comments, comments, and TF-IDF values, the public seemed to accept the Daerim-dong police incident as a gender issue, leading to extreme sexual debates such as feminism and misogyny. In addition, it was noted that the government's policy on female police officers and the institutional parts surrounding them were raised and criticized. Based on these findings, policy directions such as overprotecting the human rights of suspects, active execution of duties by police, and expanding the scope of police's control tools were proposed.
