This paper aims to investigate the professors’ perceptions including the interest, resistance, anxiety of the future university English education using the latest technologies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era. A total of 122 English professors responded to the online questionnaires. The results of the survey are as follows. First, the professors are interested in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the new technologies, especially AI and big data. They also want to know how to apply the new technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to the university English education. Second, the professors’ resistance and anxiety about the latest technologies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era is not high and the professors show a willingness to use the new technologies and a positive attitude toward them. Third, one of the positive effects of the latest technologies is to utilize various high-quality class materials and the negative effect is the suspension of classes due to the device failure and poor access to the internet.
