교육대학원 교육행정 전공은 교사 재교육과정의 대표적인 프로그램이나, 최근 전공 설치와 신입생 수는 전반적으로 감소하는 추세에 있다. 교육행정 전공의 정체성과 현직교육에서의 의미를 규명할 필요가 있다는 문제의식을 바탕으로, 이 연구는 현직교사가 교육행정 전공에서 과연 어떠한 경험을 하는지 분석함으로써 교육대학원 교육행정 전공의 의미를 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 계절제로 운영되는 국립의 교육대학원에서 최근 10년간 수학한 현직교사를 대상으로 심층 면담을 수행하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 현직교사의 지원 동기는 ‘궁극적으로는 학생을 위하여’, ‘교육현장에 대한 열정과 냉정 사이’, ‘승진 한 숟가락’으로 나타났다. 과정에 대한 경험은 ‘이론보다는 교육현장’, ‘교육시스템에 대한 공부와 토론’, ‘힐링캠프의 시간’, ‘아르고스의 눈과 같이’, ‘논문은 스스로’, ‘불타오르는 전우애’로 나타났다. 경험의 활용은 ‘교육행정 전공의 지식을 현장으로’, ‘교육정책의 이해와 수용’, ‘교육 환경에 대한 이해도 제고’, ‘교직 생활에 대한 성찰’로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 교육행정 전공의 의미는 ‘우리가 지금 하는 것이 곧 교육행정’으로 분석되었다. 즉, ‘학생들을 위한 교육 활동’이 제대로 이루어지도록 하는 데 영향을 미치고 있으며 미래의 교육행정가 양성뿐 아니라 현재의 교육행정에도 의미 있는 역할을 하고 있다는 점에 주목할 필요가 있다.
The education administration major of the Graduate School of Education is a representative program of the teacher re-education process, but the number of major installations and freshmen is decreasing overall. Based on the problem of clarifying the identity of the education administration major and the meaning of the in-service education, this study sought to clarify the meaning of the education administration major at the Graduate School of Education by analyzing the experience of incumbent teachers in education administration majors. To that end, in-depth interviews were conducted with incumbent teachers who studied in last ten years at the National Graduate School of Education, which was operated on a seasonal basis. The main findings are as follows: Motives for applying for the education administration major of the Graduate School of Education turned out to be "Extremely for students“, "Between passion and coldness for the educational field“, and "a spoonful of promotion." The course experience was shown as "school field rather than theory," "study and discussion on the education system," "time of healing camp," "like Argos' eyes," "papers is that student do for oneself" and "fiery fellowship like soldiers". The use of experience has been shown as 'use the knowledge of education administration major in the school field', 'understanding and accepting of education policy', 'understanding and accepting of educational environment' and 'reflection on teaching life'. Through this experience, the meaning of the major in education administration turned out to be "educational administration what we are doing now." It is worth noting that 'educational activities for students' are influencing to ensure that they are carried out properly, and that it is playing a significant role not only training future educational administrators but also current educational administration.
