본고는 17세기 초 사행록을 통해 명나라의 소비문화 현상을 살펴본 논문이다. 사행록이 가지던 공적인 성격 – 즉 외교부분 이외에도 사적인 성격 – 여행자의 시선을 중심으로 당시 최현의 『조천일록』에 기록된 사실을 통해 17세기 초 요동 지역의 사회문화 현상을 살펴보았다. 이는 사행록을 읽던 기존의 독법과는 조금 다르게 읽는 방법을 제안하는 것으로 이러한 논지가 성립하기 위해서는 당대의 다른 사행록과 타 장르의 글들 또한 세심하게 겹쳐 읽어야 함을 전제로 한다.
This paper examines the consumption culture phenomenon of Ming China in the early 17th century. In addition to the diplomatic sector, the consumption culture phenomenon of the Liaodong region was examined in the early 17th century through records in the Sahaengnok at that time, focusing on the public aspects of the work. This suggests a new reading of the four-line book. In order for this argument to be established, it is assumed that other four-line books of the time and other genres of writing must also be carefully overlapped.
