This paper aims to study the several problems in the Yinsheng rhyme of Juyao(full name Gujinyunhuijuyao(古今韻會擧要)). Juyao is an important rhyme book for demonstrating the phonetic change in the history of the Chinese language from Ancient Chinese to Modern Chinese. This book designed the Zimuyun(字母韻) system is different from the traditional one. This system may represent the standard language commonly used in Lin-an(臨安) during the late Nan-Song(南宋) Dynasty. This paper focuses on studying the following problems: First, I will examine the availability of several materials used in reconstructing the Yinsheng rhyme system of Juyao. Secondly, I will try to reconstruct the Yinsheng rhyme of Juyao on the basis of several materials. Finally, I will analyze the Zimuyun systemof Juyao and discuss several problems concerning the Yinsheng rhyme. I will also scrutinize Chinese open syllable change reflected in Juyao by comparing the differences between Juyao and Guangyun(廣韻), Zhongyuanyinyun(中原音韻), Contemporary standard Chinese.
