본 연구의 목적은 코메니우스(Comenius)와 파머(Palmer)의 기독교교육사상 비교를 통하여 학교교육의 여러 가지 문제들의 근원이 무엇인지 진단하고, 이를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 개혁주의 생명신학의 신앙운동의 필요성을 제언하는 것에 있다. 코메니우스와 파머의 기독교교육사상에서의 공통점은 하나님이 창조하신 이 세계는 하나님께서 부여하신 질서에 따라서 상호 유기적으로 연결되어 있는 공동체라는 인식이다. 즉 이 세계는 하나님, 인간, 자연의 삼중관계 속에 있는 하나의 공동체라는 것이다. 그리고 학습자는 삼중관계의 공동체 안에서 진리를 배울 수 있고, 진리를 배우는 교육이 온전한 교육이라는 것이다. 온전한 교육은 자연, 인간정신, 성경이 모두 가르쳐지는 교육이다. 온전한 교육은 학습자가 하나님의 형상을 회복하고, 공동체를 형성할 수 있고, 서로 관계 맺는 공동체 학습을 통하여 진리를 배우는 교육이다. 코메니우스와 파머의 기독교교육사상 비교에서 찾은 학교교육의 문제들(단절, 고통 등)의 근원은 학교교육에서 자연과 인간정신은 교육하면서도 성경을 가르치지 않는 것에 있었다. 한국 학교교육의 근원적인 문제의 해결책은 학교에서 성경을 가르치는것이다. 이를 위하여 개혁주의생명신학의 신앙운동에서 성경의 중요성과 학교에서의 성경 교육의 필요성, 그리고 신앙운동을 통한 총체적 전인교육의 필요성을 제언하였다.
The purpose of this study is to compare the Christian educational thoughts of Comenius and Palmer to diagnose the origins of various problems in school education and to suggest the need for a faith movement in the Reformed life theology as a way to solve the problems. The common features which Comenius and Palmer had in their Christian educational thoughts was the perception that this world where God created is a community organically connected by the order God has given. In other words, this world is a community in the triple relationship of God, man, and nature. Also learners can learn the truth within a community of triple relationships, and that could be a complete education. A complete education is an education where nature, human spirit, and the Bible all are taught. There is an education in which the learners to be educated about the truth through community related to each other, learning to understand how to restore God's image and how to form a community. The root of the problems of school education (disconnections, pain, etc.) found in the comparison of Comenius's and Palmer's Christian educational thoughts was that the school has educated about nature and human spirit, but not educating about the Bible. The solution to the fundamental problem of Korean school education is to teach the Bible at school. In order to solve the fundamental problem, the importance of the Bible in the faith movement of reformed life theology, the need for Bible education in schools, and the need for a holistic education through the faith movement were suggested in this paper.
