이 연구는 초등학생을 위한 성인지 감수성 교육프로그램을 구안하고 그 효과를 분석하는 데 목적이있다. 성인지 감수성은 젠더 간 차이와 불평등을 인식하고 해결방안을 제안할 수 있는 능력을 말한다. 성인지 감수성을 위한 교육은 ‘성’에 대한 인식을 출발점으로 삼되, 그 해결의 실마리는 ‘인권’의 차원에서 다루어지고 있다. 따라서 인간의 존엄성에 기반을 둔 성인지 감수성의 지도 원리를 감정이입(empathy), 개방성(open-mindedness), 비폭력(nonviolenc), 자기성찰(self-reflection)로 추출하였다. 이는 성인지 감수성 교육프로그램 구성을 위한 어휘 및 도서 선정을 위한 기준이 되었다. 성인지감수성은 다양한 삶의 맥락에서 발현되어야 하는 실천적인 지식이다. 성인지 감수성의 전이성을 높이기 위해, 다양한 제공할 필요성이 있었으며, 아동문학작품을 활용하였다. 또한, 책읽어주기 교수-학습방안(Text Talk)을 전용하여 성인지 감수성 어휘를 선별하고, 책의 내용과 관련된 기초질문과 확산적질문을 해결하는 토의·토론 활동으로 프로그램을 구안하였다. 구안된 프로그램을 서울시에 위치한 A초등학교 6학년 학생들에게 적용하며, 학생들의 수행을 관찰하고 심층 인터뷰를 통해 변화 양상을 분석하여 그 효과를 밝혔다. 프로그램의 적용 결과 학생들의 성인지도가 높아졌으며, 성과 관련된 대화에 대한 우려감이나 긴장감이 낮아졌음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 성 이슈에 대한 의견 차이가 있을때, 서로의 의견을 경청하고 합리적인 방향을 모색하고자 하는 의지가 높아졌다. 다만, 학생들이 토의할 때 논제의 해결방안을 다양하게 제안하기보다는 군대나 출산의 문제를 거론하며 남녀 학생 간 반목하는 현상이 지속적으로 관찰되었다. 이는 학생들의 성장통을 드러내는 현상으로서, 학생들이 자기 내면에 집중하고 타인의 반응을 의미있게 해석해 나갈 수 있는 지속적인 경계 허물기 활동이 필요함을시사한다.
The study aims to devise a gender-sensitive education program for elementary school students andanalyze its effects. In Korea, gender sensitivity is covered in a wide range of categories, ranging fromrecognizing gender differences as the ability to detect gender issues to predicting the impact of thosedifferences and recognizing gender inequality. Gender-cognitive sensitivity education in elementaryschools is the starting point for "sex," but it is treated as a "human rights." As a way to do this, thisstudy devised a model of gender-sensitive sensitivity maps using children's literature and analyzed itseffects. The fundamental elements of gender sensitivity are the extraction of empathy,open-mindedness, nonviolence, and self-reflection based on emotional intercultural sensitivity. Usingthis as a basic learning element, the related books were selected, and the teaching-learning coursewas designed as a stage of "open mind-reading (reading) story-word exploration, story-telling, gendersensitivity development, and practice in life" was applied to sixth grade A elementary school studentsin Seoul. Students observed the changes through in-depth interviews with the results of theperformance and revealed the effects. As a result of the gender sensitivity reading program, students'awareness of gender has increased, and concerns and tensions over sex-related conversations havebeen reduced. In addition, there has been a growing attitude among students to listen to each other'sopinions and seek reasonable directions. However, in the context of discussion, a strategy is neededto resolve the phenomenon of disagreement by simplifying the topic of discussion into military orchildbirth problems in a win-win situation.
