오늘날 각계각층에서 여성들의 활동이 눈부시다. 여성들은 다양한 분야에서 그 지경을 넓혀 가고 있다. 그런데 교회 내 여성들의 지위에 대한 변화는 더딘 것 같다. 교회에서 여성들은 단지 각종 봉사나 심방 보조 정도로 제한된 사역을 하고 있다. 바울과 영산의 선교(목회) 사역에 동참한 여성 사역자들을 연구함으로 그 대안을 모색하고자 한다. 본 논문은 먼저 바울이 살았던 헬라-로마 사회에서 여성의 지위와 로마서 16장에 나온 바울의 여성 동역자인 뵈뵈, 브리스가 그리고 유니아의 역할을 연구함으로써 바울의 여성관을 밝혀낼 것이다. 바울은 여성이 무시당한 그 시대에 혁명적인 선언을 하였고 여성을 존경하고 그들과 함께 성공적인 선교사역을 하였다는 것을 제시하고자 한다. 그다음에 영산이 살았던 시대의 한국 기독교 여성의 현실을 살펴보고, 영산의 여성 동역자인 최자실 목사와 여성 구역장들의 실제적인 사역을 연구함으로써 그들이 영산의 목회에 어떤 기여를 하였는지, 영산이 그들을 목회사역에 도입하는 데 어떠한 어려움을 극복하였는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 마지막으로 바울과 영산의 사역에 나타난 특징을 찾는 작업을 통해 그들이 성공적인 사역을 할 수 있었던 중요한 요인 중 하나가 여성 사역자들이라는 사실을 밝힐 것이다. 바울과 영산이 눈을 떠서 그 시대의 관습과 편견을 물리치고 오직 하나님 나라의 확장을 위하여 여성을 무시하지 않고 사역자로 세워서 성공적인 사역을 한 것처럼 오늘날의 교회도 눈을 떠야 한다. 교회 성장을 위하여 “남자나 여자나 다 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나”(갈 3:28)라는 말씀을 바탕으로여성 지도자를 세우고, 여성 사역자에게 남성과 같은 권위를 부여하는 것이 절실히 필요하다.
The activities of women at all levels of society today are very conspicuous. Women are broadening their horizons in every field. But the status of women in the church seems to be changing slowly. The role of women in the church is limited to all kinds of services and visitations. I would like to find an alternative by studying the female ministers who participated in the missionary (pastoral) ministry of Paul and Youngsan. This paper will first investigate the position of women in the Greek-Roman society where Paul lived and the roles of Paul’s female co-workers, Phoebe, Prisca, and Junia in Romans 16, thereby clarifying Paul’s view of women. Paul made a revolutionary statement at a time when women were being neglected. He respected women and did a successful missionary work with them. Next, I observe the reality of Korean Christian women in the era of Youngsan’s life, the practical ministry of Pastor Choi Jasil a female co-worker of Youngsan, and the female cell group leaders, to get a detailed understanding of what contributions they made to Youngsan’s ministry and what difficulties Youngsan overcame to make women leaders at church. Finally, through the work of finding commonalities in the ministry of Paul and Youngsan, it will be revealed that one of the important factors that enabled them to have a successful ministry was female workers. Just as Paul and Youngsan opened their eyes and abandoned the habits and prejudices of the time, and stood together for the expansion of God’s kingdom without ignoring women, and achieved successful ministry, so the church today should open its eyes. For the growth of the church, it is desperately necessary to establish female leaders based on the words “male and female are all one in Jesus Christ” (Gal 3:28), and to give female ministers the same authority as men have.
