본 연구는 학교 음악 교육이 시작되는 3학년부터 2015 개정 교육과정으로 교육받고 있는 현재 초등 5-6학년 학생들의음악 교과 역량에 대한 인식을 알아보고, 이를 통해 초등학교에서 음악 교과 역량의 신장이 잘 이루어지고 있는지 탐색해 보고자 한다. 이 연구를 위하여 2020년 5월, 경기도 A시의 혁신학교인 B초등학교 5-6학년 학생들 100명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 첫째, 역량 중심의 2015 개정 음악과 교육과정에 대해 알아보고, 음악 교과 역량의 특징과 강조점을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 초등학교 5-6학년 학생들을 대상으로 6가지 음악 교과 역량에 대한 인식을 설문지를 통해 알아보았다. 분석 결과, 초등학교 5-6학년 학생들은 ‘음악 감성 역량’에 대해 제일 높게 인식하고 있었고, ‘자기관리 역량’, ‘음악적 창의⋅융합 사고 역량’, ‘문화적 공동체 역량’, ‘음악적 소통 역량’, ‘음악정보처리 역량’ 순으로 인식했다. 2015 개정 교육과정에서 강조하고 있는 역량 중심교육은 학생들이 학교에서 배운 지식을 실생활에서 구현하고 활용할 수 있다는 점을 기대하지만 본 연구의 대상자들은 학교 음악시간보다는 인터넷, 음원 등을 통해 음악을 더 많이 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 음악 교과에서 교과 역량이 함양되기 위해서는 음악수업에서 역량을 충분히 반영한 교수⋅학습활동이 뒷받침되어야 할 것이다.
The purpose of this study is to find out the perception on the competencies in music subjent of fifth and sixth grade elementary students, who have been studied in the 2015 revised music curriculum since the third grade when the school music education begins and to explore whether the competencies of music subject were being improved well. For this study, an online survey was conducted in May, 2020 on 100 fifth and sixth grade students of S Elementary School, which is an innovation school in A city, Gyeonggi-do. In this study, first, the competency-based 2015 revised curriculum was studied, also the characteristics and emphasis of the competencies in the music subject were explored. Second, the perception of six music subject competencies by fifth and sixth grade elementary students were surveyed and analyzed. As a result of the analysis, fifth and sixth grade elementary students perceived ‘music aesthetic sensitivity competence’ the highest, then ‘self-management competence’, ‘music creativity and convergence thinking competence’, ‘cultural-community competence’, ‘music-communication competence’, ‘music knowledge information processing competence’ in order. The competency-based 2015 revised curriculum expects learners to implement and utilize the skills learned from school in real life. However, it was appeared that many of elementary students experience music more through the Internet and MP3 than school music class in this study. In order to develop the competencies of music subject, teaching and learning activities that fully reflect the competencies in the music class must be developed.
