오늘날 우리는 COVID-19라는 전염병을 비롯하여, 신자유주의로 인한 빈부격차, 삶의 퇴폐와 급속도의 기술 발전으로 인한 인간관계의 단절 등 다양한 삶의 고통에 직면해있다. 우리의 삶에의 의지는 어느 때보다도 위축되고 약화되어 가고 있다. 지금 우리에게 필요한 것은 약화되어 가는 삶에의 의지의 회복이자 혹독한 현실에 강하게 대처하는 삶의 지혜의 공유이다. 니체가 주목한 가혹한 현실에 대한 강인한 관계 방식을 지닌 비극은 ‘아티케 비극(attische Tragödie)’이었다. 니체는 비극 속에서 삶에의 의지의 회복과 더불어 혹독한 현실에 강하게 대처하는 삶의 지혜의 공유의 장을 발견하였다. 이 글에서 논자는 니체의 저작 『비극의 탄생』에서 주목된 비극의 유형으로서 아티케 비극과 힙합의 접점으로서 가혹한 현실에 대한 강인한 관계 방식을 주목하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 2장에서는 힙합 속 아티케 비극의 모습들을 ‘힙합의 탄생 배경에 내재된 비극의 모습’과 ‘힙합의 구성요소를 통해 알아보는 21세기적 아티케 비극의 가능성’을 통해 밝혀보고, 3장에서는 아티케 비극 속 제3예술로서 엠씨잉을 ‘제3예술로서 랩의 신체성’과 ‘아티케 비극적 제3예술로서 랩의 추한 것에 대한 감수성’을 통해 밝혀볼 것이다. 나아가 4장에서는 강함의 염세주의와 힙합의 상관성을 드러내기 위하여 ‘강함의 염세주의와 사이퍼의 상관성’과 ‘고통의 감수성을 포월하는 화합의 합창으로서 떼창’을 살펴볼 것이다. 이로써 본 연구는 니체가 주목한 고대 그리스의 아티케 비극과 오늘 날 21세기의 힙합의 접목 가능성을 확인하고, 나아가 약화되어 가는 삶에의 의지의 회복이자 혹독한 현실에 강하게 대처하는 삶의 지혜의 공유의 장으로서 힙합의 현재적 의미를 드러내고자 한다.
Today we face a variety of life pains, including the epidemic of COVID-19, the gap between the rich and the poor due to neoliberalism, the decadence of life and the disconnection of human relations due to rapid technological advancement. Our will to live is shrinking and weakening more than ever. What we need now is a restoration of our weakened will for life and a sharing of life wisdom that deals strongly with harsh realities. The tragic harsh reality that Nietzsche had a strong relationship with was "attische Tragödie." Nietzsche discovered in the tragedy the restoration of his will to live, as well as the sharing of the wisdom of life to cope with harsh realities. In this article, the writer seeks to note the strong relationship between Attic tragedy and the harsh reality as the interface between Hip Hop and the type of tragedy noted in Nietzsche's "Birth of Tragedy". To this end, Chapter 2 reveals the appearance of Attic tragedy in Hip Hop through "the tragedy inherent in the background of Hip Hop" and "the possibility of 21st century Attic tragedy" and Chapter 3 reveals MCing as "the physicality of rap as the third art." Furthermore, in Chapter 4, to reveal the correlation between the pessimism of strength and the cypher, we will look at both "the correlation between the pessimism of strength and the cypher" and "the singalong of harmony that transcends the sensitivity of pain." This study confirms Nietzsche's ancient Greek Attic tragedy and the possibility of combining Hip Hop in today's 21st century, and further reveals the present meaning of Hip Hop as a restoration of a weakened will for life and a sharing of wisdom in dealing with harsh realities.
