이 연구는 문화대혁명 시기 중국동포의 민족정체성은 어떠한 과정을 거쳐 파괴와 소멸을 강요당했는지, 그리고 문화대혁명이 종식되고 새롭게 펼쳐진 개혁개방과 함께 중국동포의 민족정체성은 어떻게 복원되었는지, 즉 어떤 주체에 의해 어떠한 과정을 거쳐 복원되었으며, 어떤 특징을 가지게 되었는지를 파악하고자 기획하였다. 이는 중국동포의 다중정체성의 형성 기반을 보다 구체적으로 이해하고자 함에서 비롯되었다.
This study investigated how the ethnic identity of Korean Chinese was forced to be destroyed and disappeared during the Cultural Revolution and how the ethnic identity of them was restored with the newly adopted reform and openness after the Cultural Revolution. In other words, the study tried to find out through what kind of process the ethnic identity of Korean Chinese was restored and what sort of characteristics they acquired. This attempt was made to understand the formation basis of multiple identities of Korean Chinese more specifically.
