The purpose of this study is to compare institutional framework & teacher's group, curricular subject & academic atmosphere between the Department of Korean Language and Literature for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Seoul National University and the Faculty of Joseon Language and Literature (朝鮮語文學部) at Kim Il Sung University (金日成綜合大學), which were established, respectively, in September and October of 1946. For this, an analysis was made on a school history (校史), the U.S. military's captured documents and the early students' retrospection of two universities. The aim was to approach with ‘the continuous and non-continuous double-eyed dogma of colony-decolonization’ as for how a major in Joseon Language & Literature (朝鮮語文學) at colonial Keijo Imperial University (京城帝國大學), which had been the foundation of these two systems, had influence upon two universities after the liberation, and as for how the ideology of two divided nations after this proceeded with making a difference between two universities. With being affected by the ideology of American university, the Faculty of Law and Literature at Keijo Imperial University (京城帝國大學) was reorganized into the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Seoul National University. The literature department at Kim Il Sung University (金日成綜合大學) was made up in the combined form of kapedeula and Aspirantra of corresponding to a Soviet-style system. The teaching staffers with a major in the Department of Korean Language and Literature and in Joseon Language and Literature (朝鮮語文學) of two universities were formed the principal axis by those with a major in Joseon Language & Literature (朝鮮語文學) for the Faculty of Law and Literature at Keijo Imperial University (京城帝國大學). This was probably natural because a major in the Joseon Language & Literature (朝鮮語文學) was only established in Keijo Imperial University (京城帝國大學). The influence of Imperial University in which the Korean language and classical literature formed the center remained strongly. Thus, the three-division system in Korean Linguistics, Classical Literature and Modern Literature like now was not arranged yet in the early days of its establishment. However, both universities could be confirmed to have been begun the modern literature education by the foreign literature majors at Imperial University.
