본 연구의 목적은 관련 문헌과 선행연구를 통하여 유아교육에서 교육연극의 의미를 고찰하고 유아교육에서 교육연극의 적용 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 교육연극의 개념과 다양하게 발달해 온 교육연극의 종류, 유아교육과의 관련성을 고찰함으로써 유아교육에서교육연극의 의미와 적합성을 규명하고자 하였다. 또한 유아교육에서 교육연극 적용의 핵심적주제로 교육연극의 교육목표, 교육연극 접근방법 및 구성요소, 교육연극관습을 고찰하였다. 교육연극은 교육을 위하여 연극적 요소를 활용하는 다양한 형태의 노력을 통칭하는 개념으로, 교육연극이 가진 놀이적 특성과 유아의 발달적 특징으로 인해 유아교육과정의 교수학습방법으로 매우 적절하다. 교육연극은 교육연극의 다양한 교육 목표와 구성 방법, 교육연극관습을 통해 기존의 동극활동 지도에 있던 제한점과 어려움을 보완하고 더욱 다양한 교육 목표를 위해 유아교육에 활발하게 적용될 수 있을 것이다.
The purpose of this study is to consider the meaning of educational drama in early childhood education through related literature and prior studies and while exploring the application of educational drama in early childhood education. To this end, the meaning and suitability of educational drama in early childhood education were sought by examining the concept of educational drama, the types of educational drama that had developed in various ways, and their relevance to early childhood education. In addition, the main themes of the application of educational drama in early childhood education such as the educational goals, approaches and components of educational drama, and the practice of educational drama were studied. Educational drama is a concept that collectively refers to various types of efforts to utilize theatrical elements for education, and is very appropriate as a teaching method of the early childhood education courses due to the play characteristics and developmental characteristics of the young children. The educational drama program will be able to supplement the limitations and difficulties of the existing dramatic activity guidance by the means of delivering various educational goals, methods of composition, and educational drama practices; and they may be actively applied to early childhood education for more diverse educational goals.
