손춘익 동화 「어린 떠돌이」,「작은 어릿광대의 꿈」,「땅에 그리는 무지개」에 드러난 아버지상을 중심으로 분석해 보았다. 물론 각 텍스트에 나타난 인물(아버지, 어머니, 아이, 형)들의 언행, 그리고 작가의 세계관도 함께 검토해 보았다. 「어린 떠돌이」, 「작은 어릿광대의 꿈」에 나타난 아버지는 아동학대의 가해자다. 이는 아버지가 아이를 괴롭히고 있다는 것을 의미하는 것이다. 물론 아버지의 불법행위는 일회성이 아닌 상습적이다. 이와 같은 아버지의 불법행위는 위법한 행위일 뿐만 아니라 처벌대상(학대죄)이다. 아버지의 가해행위들은 다음과 같다. 폭행, 손괴, 강요, 협박, 학습권 박탈 등이 있다. 「어린 떠돌이」, 「작은 어릿광대의 꿈」에 나타난 아버지의 가해행위는 비단 물리적 폭력에 국한되지 않는다. 아버지가 아이를 이용해 돈을 벌려고 했기 때문이다. 그 과정에서 아버지는 아이의 학습권을 박탈(중학교 진학 포기)하기에 이른다. 물론 아버지는 자신이 저지른 죄에 대해 양심의 가책을 느끼지 않는다. 「어린 떠돌이」, 「작은 어릿광대의 꿈」에 나타난 아버지는 가장(家長) 역할을 전혀 하지 않는다. 이는 아버지가 경제활동을 하지 않을 뿐만 아니라 술만 먹으면 행패를 부린다는 것을 의미하는 것이다. 이와 같은 아버지의 언행은 한편으로는 가족들에게 피해를 주는 것, 또 다른 한편으로는 주변인(이웃 사람)들에게 민폐를 끼치는 것으로 볼 수 있을 것이다. 「작은 어릿광대의 꿈」에 나타난 아이는 아버지의 아동학대로 인해 자살을 생각하기에 이른다. 하지만 아이는 자살을 결행하지 않는다. 이와 같은 아이의 돌출 행동(자살 충동)은 한편으로는 아이의 성장 과정이 비정상적이라는 것을 의미하는 것이고, 또 다른 한편으로는 아버지의 가해행위가 얼마나 혹독했는지 알 수 있는 대목이다. 물론 가족(어머니, 누나, 형)들이 아이를 돌보지 않았다면 아이는 극단적인 행동을 했을 것이다. 「땅에 그리는 무지개」에 나타난 아버지는 술병으로 일찍 죽는다. 이는 한편으로는 아버지가 부모의 역할을 수행할 수 없을 지경에 이르렀음을 의미하는 것이고, 또 다른 한편으로는 아이가 아버지에게 법적 권리(친권, 학습권 등)들을 요구할 수 없음을 의미하는 것이다. 결국, 아버지의 부재로 인해 가족들이 적지 않은 피해(가난, 아이의 학업 포기, 아이의 조기 취업 등)들을 입은 것이다. 「어린 떠돌이」, 「작은 어릿광대의 꿈」, 「땅에 그리는 무지개」에 나타난 아이들은 또래 아이들이 체험할 수 없는 것(폭행, 협박, 강요, 등)들을 몸소 겪은 당사자다. 이는 한편으로는 아이들이 자신이 처한 환경이 녹록하지 않다는 것을 의미하는 것이고, 또 다른 한편으로는 아이들이 아동학대의 피해자라는 것을 의미하는 것이다. 물론 아이들은 자신이 처한 궁박한 상황을 비난하거나 원망하지 않는다. 이는 손춘익이 평소 지향하는 휴머니즘, 리얼리즘, 교훈주의, 사실주의 등과 무관하지 않은 것이다.
I analyzed the father image revealed in Son Chun-ik’s fairy tales “little Wanderings”, “little clown dreams”, “rainbow drawing on the ground”. Of course, I looked at the words and actions of the characters (father, mother, children, brother) in each text. I also studied the author world view. The father in the texts(little Wanderings, “little clown dreams) are an abuser of child abuse. This means that the father is harassing the child. Of course, father illegal acts are habitual, not one-off. Such an unjust acts by father are not only illegal but also subject to punishment. Father acts of abuse are as follows. There are assault, destruction, coercion, intimidation, deprivation of learning rights, etc. The father in the texts(little Wanderings, little clown dreams) are not limited to physical violence. Because the father tried to make money by using child. In the process, the father even deprived the child of his right to study. Of course, the father has no remorse for the crime. The father in the texts(little Wanderings, little clown dreams) dont’t work the role of the head of the family. it’s not only father not in engage economic activities, but he is also violent when he drinks. Such a father words and actions could be seen as damaging to his family and also causing inconvenience to his neighbors. The child in the text(little clown dreams) thinks of suicide because of father child abuse. But the child does not commit suicide. Such a child protruding behavior on the one hand means that the child’s sexual process is abnormal, and on the other hand, it shows how severe the father assault was. Of course, if the family(mother, sister, brother) had not taken care of the child, the child would have done extreme things. The father in the text(rainbow drawn on the ground) dies early from drinking. This on the one hand means that the father has reached the point where he cannot serve as a parent, and on the other hand, the child cannot demand legal rights(parental authority, right to study, etc) from the father. After all, the absence of a father caused considerable damage(poverty, the abandonment of a child’s studies, early employment, etc) to the family. The child in the text(little Wanderings, little clown dreams, rainbow drawn on the ground) are the ones who have personally experienced things(assault, threat, forcing, etc.) that child of their age. This on the one hand means that children are in a poor environment, and on the other hand, children are victims of child abuse. Of course, children don’t blame or resent their plight. This has to do with Son Chun-ik usual pursuit of humanism, realism, moralism, realism.
