본 연구의 목적은 발달장애인 자조모임 조력자 경험을 알아보는 것이다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 A법인이 시행한 2019년 발달장애인 자조모임지원사업에 선정된 자조모임의 조력자 7명을 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 연구방법은 연구자가 탐구하고자 하는 현상을 참여자의 관점에서 파악할 수 있도록 하는 Glaser(1998)의 반복적 비교분석법을 활용하였다. 분석결과, 발달장애인 자조모임 조력자의 경험은 ‘지원기관과의 관계’, ‘발달장애인 자조모임과의 관계’, ‘발달장애인당사자 부모와의 관계’ 3개 범주로 나타났고 6개 상위주제와 9개 하위주제가 도출되었다. 논의에서는 연구결과의 함의와 함께 발달장애인 자조모임과 조력자를 지원하기 위한 실천적 제언을 제시하였다.


This study was conducted to examine the experience of facilitators in self-help groups for the developmental disabilities by focusing on the relationship between the facilitator and support organizations, self-help groups, the developmental disabilities themselves, and the parents of the developmental disabilities. To achieve the purpose of this study, the data were collected through in-depth interviews with seven facilitators of self-help groups who were selected for the self-help group support project for the developmental disabilities conducted by A corporation in 2019. The Glaser’s(1998) constant comparison method, which allows the researcher to understand the phenomenon that they would like to study from the perspective of the participant, was utilized as the research methodology for this study. The results of the analysis derived 6 themes and 9 sub-themes in the 3 categories of ‘relationship with support organizations’, ‘relationship with self-help groups of developmental disabilities’ and ‘relationship with the parents of the developmental disabilities’. In addition to implications from the research results, this study provided practical suggestions to support developmental disabilities self-help group and facilitators.
