보르헤스와 비오이 카사레스가 오노리오 부스토스 토메크라는 가상의 작가를 통해 발표한 『이시드로 파로디에게 주어진 여섯 가지 사건』은 전통적 탐정소설의 기법을 활용하면서 아르헨티나식 탐정소설의 탄생을 알리는 작품이 되었다. 작품의 제목에서 이미 유추할 수 있듯이 이 작품은 탐정소설을 패러디하고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 이 작품에 포함된 여섯 가지 사건에 드러난 패러디적 요소를 분석하고 있다. 본 논문은 이 작품이 서구문학을 적극적으로 패러디하고 있다는데 주목하여 이 작품이 한편으로는 서구문학에 대한 경의이자 단절의 표현이고 다른 한편으로는 보르헤스와 비오이 카사레스가 패러디를 문학의 본질적 속성으로 이해하고 있음을 밝히고 있다. 또한 두 작가가 탐정소설의 전통적인 틀을 일정하게 유지하고 있다는 점에 주목하여 무질서한 현실에 질서가 잡히기를 바라는 욕망이 투영되어 있음을 포착하고 있다.
Seis problemas para don Isidro Parodi by Jorge Luis Borges and Adolfo Bioy Casares, taking advantage of the western detective genre, has become the first Argentine detective novel. As is well known, this work is a parody, on the one hand, of Western literature and, on the other, of the social situation in Argentina at that time. This study mainly investigates the parodic elements of the novel and observes that Borges and Bioy Casares understood that parody is the fundamental element of the novel. This study also investigates that Seis problemas para don Isidro Parodi is a reflection of the desire of both authors to put order in the disorganized Argentine society in the early 20th century.
