본 연구에서는 자기애적 취약성과 우울의 관계에서 사회부과 완벽주의와 자기은폐의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 자기애적 취약성은 개입하기 어려운 성격변인으로 알려져 있는데 자기애적 취약성을 감소시키기 위해서는 매개변인을 알아볼 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 대학생 416명을 대상으로 자기애적 취약성, 사회부과 완벽주의, 자기은폐, 우울을 측정하는 자기보고식 설문지를 실시한 뒤 분석하였다. 연구결과, 자기애적 취약성이 우울을 직접 설명하기도 하지만, 사회부과 완벽주의와 자기은폐를 매개로 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 자기애적 취약성과 우울의 관계에 대한 이해를 확장하여 구체적인 상담 전략을 수립하기 위한 근거를 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 이를 통해 자기애적 취약성을 감소시킬 수 있는 상담전략을 수립할 수 있을 것이다.
This study was designed to investigate whether narcissistic vulnerability (NV) affected depression in the mediation of socially-prescribed perfectionism (SPP) and self- concealment (SC). NV is known to be the difficult personality factor to intervene directly, so needed to find mediating factors for decreasing the effect of NV. Data were collected from 416 undergraduate students and analyzed. Participants were asked to complete the self-report questionnaires which were consisted of NV scale, SPP scale, SC scale, and depression scale. Results revealed that NV had effect on depression in the mediation of SPP and SC partially and completely. NV also affects depression directly. These results had implications of understanding the relationship between NV and depression by investigating the mediation variables comprehensively, which could be useful for setting the strategies for helping individuals with NV.
