본고는 문학능력 향상 및 활성화를 위한 방법으로 문학 토론에 주목한 글이다. 교실에서 토론을 활성화하는 일 중의 하나가 문학 토론 논제 구성이다. 본고에서는 토론 논제를 문학소통의 요소, 서사텍스트의 구성요소로 조합하여 문학 토론 논제를 다양하게 구성하는 방법을 제안한다. 다양한 논제로 문학을 토론의 장으로 이끌어 낼 때 재미와 유익함으로 교실 토론이 활성화되며 문학 읽기가 활발해지기 때문이다. 정책토론, 링컨더글라스 토론, 공공 포럼 토론, 칼포퍼식 토론 등 외국의 주요 토론 형식은 정책, 가치, 사실 논제를 고루 다루고 있다. 이와 달리 우리나라 고등학교 국어교과서의 토론 단원은 일상의 문제를 주로 정책 논제로 다루고 있어 토론 방식과 논제의 종류가 치우쳤다. 서사텍스트에는 문학 토론 논제가 풍부하다. 박지원의 「허생전」, 이효석의 「메밀꽃 필 무렵」, 전광용의 「꺼삐딴 리」를 ‘문학 토론 논제 구성 조합 모델’에 적용하여 토론 논제를 구성하였다. 그 결과 서사텍스트 토론에서는 가치, 사실, 정책 논제를 다양하게 구성할 수 있다. 가치 논제와 사실 논제를 발굴함으로써 교과 활동에서 흥미롭게 토론 능력을 키우고, 학업 성취감과 문학 능력을 향상시키는 문학 토론으로 교실 토론의 폭을 넓힐 수 있을 것이다.
This study focuses on literature debate as a way to improve and revitalize literary ability. One of the activities to activate debate in classroom is the composition of literary debate topic. In this paper, the debate topic is combined with elements of literary communication and elements of narrative texts to propose a method of variously composing literary debate topics. This is because classroom debate is activated by fun and usefulness when leading literature to debate with various topics, and reading literature becomes active. Until recently, the Korean language curriculum of high school has suggested the way of debate as a policy debate format and proposition of policy. The narrative text is rich in literary debate topics. This study proposes a combination model of literary debate topics that can review and debate literary works in various ways for ‘Heosaeng-jeon’ by Pak Jiwon, ‘Memilkkot Pil Mu-ryeop’ by Lee Hyo-seok, and ‘Captin Lee’ by Jeon Gwang-yong. As a result, values, facts, and policy topics can be constructed in various way in narrative text debates. By exploring values and factual issues, you will develop interesting debate skills in your curriculum activities and expand your classroom debates by improving your academic achievement and literary skills.
