본고는 언약의 관점에서 성경과 역사적 신앙교육전통이 제공하는 교리교육의 최적의 교육기회인 입교교육 활성화를 목적한다. 청소년들이 세속화되고, 다원화된 세상에서 성경적 교리교육으로 든든히 자신의 정체성을 세우지 않고는 건강한 그리스도인으로 살아갈 수 없을 것이다. 본고는 신앙의 기둥들로 주신 성례교육을 자라나는 세대교육의 기회로 제안한다. 하나님이 유아세례식을 통해 예수 그리스도 안의 언약 가족으로 아이를 주권적으로 초대하셨다면, 이 아이는 장성하여 그리스도 안에서 세례받은 자녀로서 개인의 신앙과 헌신을 공적으로 고백함으로 그 부르심에 응답하게 된다. 이것이 언약적 행동으로서의 입교이해이다. 유아세례를 받은 자들은 이렇게 장성하여 공적 신앙고백을 한 후 성만찬에 참여하게 된다. 성례는 하나님께서 연약한 인간들의 믿음을 돕는 교육수단이다. 하나님께서 믿음의 가정에 주신 아이를 성례를 통해 인치시고, 말씀과 성령으로 믿음을 자라게 하시는 것이다. 부모와 교회는 하나님의 동역자로 하나님이 택하여 불러모아주신 아이들을 말씀으로 가르칠 의무가 있다. 이를 위해 입교교리교육을 위한 15과 커리큘럼과, 1시간 교육용 모델교안을 첨부하였다. 초대교회로부터 특히 종교개혁시대에 적극적으로 활용되었던 교리문답 교육이 이 입교식을 계기로 활성화되고 한국교회 교육토양을 새롭게 할 수 있기를 바란다.
Among the various educational programs that educate the growing generation of the Korean church, the public profession of faith has not paid close attention. If God sovereignly invites a child to a covenant family in Jesus Christ through infant baptism, this child responds to that covenant by professing of faith. This is public profession of faith as a covenantal action. This public profession of faith allows participation in the Lord’s Supper. The sacraments are a means of education that God helps weak humans to believe. It is to seal the child that God gave to the family of faith through the sacrament, and to grow faith through the Word and the Holy Spirit. The church has the duty to teach the children whom God has chosen and gathered by the Word. In the current situation where the number of youth in Korean churches is rapidly declining, parents and pastors must fulfill their educational mission so that youths can learn the way of becoming Christians and walk the path of the Lord by implementing catechesis that connects infant baptism and public confession of faith. To this end, the curriculum of Lesson 15 for public confession of faith and a model teaching plan for 1-hour education were attached. I hope that catechism education, which was actively used in the era of the Reformation, especially from the early Churches, will be revitalized and renewed the educational soil of Korean churches. We hope that this systematic catechesis will serve as an important channel through which the grace of baptism and the Holy Communion, which are the sacraments of becoming a Christian, can be vividly delivered to the Christian's life. As an important instrument to recognize the work of the Holy Spirit which perseveres the saints, I desire that this systematic education for the public confession of faith can result the fruits of the faith in the coming generation.
