Recently, Indonesia has implemented aggressive policies against the nationwide expansion of Islam radicals such as Laskar Jihad, Islam state (IS), and Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia in association with huge Islam organizations. Huge Islam organizations like MUI, NU, Muhammadiyah have emphasized the importance of national mottos such as Unity in Diversity (Bhinneka Tunggal Ika), the nation’s fundamental principles (Pancasila), the 1945 Constitution (Undang-undang Dasar 1945), and NKRI(Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia). The Indonesian government makes efforts to stop the collective expansion of the radicalism, requesting national bureaus such as terror prevention organizations (BNPT: Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Terorisme) and the military (TNI) as well as MUI, NU, Muhammadiyah for corporation. Because it pursues to achieve a united nation through harmony. Yet, radical groups haven’t accepted the fundamental principles of the nation. In addition, radical groups criticize Islam organizations and leaders, spreading out into Pondok Pesantren, which is the traditional Islam education system and university, suggesting different interpretation on the teachings based on Quran and Hadith, and refusing Pancasila. Particularly, as radical Islam groups crossed over to Papua where there were relatively less religious conflicts, MUI, NU, and Muhammadiyah prepare comprehensive and organizational countermeasures in association with Papua Islam organizations. Accordingly, Islam organizations have responded to the radical groups for all their efforts. Islam organizations such as MUI, NU, and Muhammadiyah have warned radical groups such as IS, Laskar Jihad, HTI to leave the Papua, continuously preparing the countermeasures. They emphasize the importance of the national integration and the refusal of violence. The National Commission of Terror Prevention (BNPT) has also led to prevent terror in support of Islam organizations.
