전 세계적으로 해양산업은 국가 중요산업으로 항상 인식되어 왔다. 이러한 해양산업 중 현재각광받고 있는 분야는 해양관광산업이다. 우리나라는 풍부한 해양관광자원을 지니고 있으며, 관광자원을 활용하고자 지속적인 개발 및 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 인천은 다양하고 경쟁력 있는 관광자원을 보유하고 있는 매력적인 곳이며, 해양 관광자원이있고, MICE산업의 기반시설과 축제와 이벤트가 있는 곳이다. 그러므로 본 연구는 MICE산업과 연계한 인천지역의 해양관광콘텐츠를 홍보하는 전략적 접근방안을 제시하기 위해 인천지역 해양관광콘텐츠 홍보 관련 문헌을 중심으로 MICE산업과의 연계방안을 알아보고자 하였다. 이에 인천지역 해양관광콘텐츠 홍보를 위해 MICE산업과의 연계방안을 구체적으로 살펴보면,인천시가 인천지역에 관광객 유치와 관광객의 편의를 도모하기 위해 이용하는 광고, 인적판매,퍼블리시티, 판매촉진 활동과 관광객에게 제공되는 해양관광콘텐츠 정보제공 활동을 포함하는광의의 개념을 포괄할 수 있는 MICE산업의 핵심인 전시박람회, 인센티브여행, 국제회의 및 컨벤션산업을 활용하여 각각의 특성별로 관광홍보를 시행하는 것이 필요하다. 인천지역 주민이 살아가고 있는 시공간의 맥락을 통해 들여다보는 해양관광콘텐츠들이 모두최초의 도시, 인천이 품고 키워냈기 때문에 바다, 전쟁, 실향, 미군, 일제, 화교, 공장 등의 특징이다른 도시에서도 쉽게 찾아볼 수 없는 차별점이 많다는 점에서 관광객의 흥미를 유발하기 쉽다. 그러므로 인천의 가치를 새롭게 발견하기 위해서는 관광객들이 쉽게 지나쳤던 인천지역 해양관광콘텐츠를 전략적으로 접근하고 홍보할 수 있는 MICE산업과의 연계를 통한 전시회를 개최하는등으로 인천을 구성하는 요소들을 새롭게 조명하는 데 본 연구의 의의가 있다.
The marine industry has always been recognized as a national important industry around theworld. The marine tourism industry is the most popular field among marine industries. Korea hasabundant marine tourism resources and continuous development and research are being conducted toutilize tourism resources. Incheon is an attractive place with diverse and competitive tourism resources, has marinetourism resources, and has infrastructure, festivals and events in the MICE industry. Therefore, this study suggests a strategic approach to promote marine tourism contents in Incheonarea linked to MICE industry. The ways to link with MICE industry to promote marine tourismcontents in Incheon are as follows. It is necessary for Incheon city to implement tourism promotionby each characteristic by utilizing exhibition fair, incentive travel, international conference andconvention industry which are the core of MICE industry. Incheon is easy to attract touristsbecause there are many differences that can not be easily found in other cities such as the sea, war,displaced, US military, Japanese colonial rule, Chinese, and factories. In order to discover the value of Incheon, it is necessary to link with the MICE industry thatcan strategically approach and promote marine tourism contents in Incheon that tourists have easilypassed.
