학습자는 한국어의 보어와 중국어의 补语, 그리고 영어의 Complement를 동일개념으로 오인하는 경우가 많다. 실제로 최근 집필된 사전의 풀이를 참조하면 모두 ‘부족한 부분을 보충하는 문장성분’으로 보인다. 문장성분의 표기가 동일하다는 것은 그 대상들의 통사적 특징 또는 의미의 공통점이 존재한다는 사실을 암시한다. 하지만 자세히 살펴보면 이들은 서로 다른개념을 의미하고 있어 학습자의 적지 않은 혼란을 초래하게 된다. 본고에서는 이들 개념의변천사와 언어 자료를 통해 서로의 관계를 명확히 파악하고자 한다.
In many cases, Bo-eo, Buyu, and Complement are mistaken as to be of the same concept. In fact, many of the descriptions of these words in recently published dictionaries define them as ‘an element of a sentence that complements what is lacking or insufficient in the sentence. The reason that they appear as the same element in a sentence implies that they share certain commonalities or syntactic properties. However, if one takes a more in-depth look into them, they all represent different concepts, causing a significant amount of confusion. In this study, the researcher intends to highlight the history of their evolution and clarify the relationships between each other through linguistic data.
