본 연구는 진로적응성이 높은 학교 밖 청소년의 학업중단과 대학진학 경험을 심도있게 이해하며 학교 밖 청소년들의 교육적, 재정적 지원을 위한 방안을 모색하기 위한 목적에서 수행되었다. 이를 위해 4명의 연구 참여자에게 개별심층면접을 실시하여 자료를 수집하고, 질적 사례연구방법을 활용하여 사례 내 분석과 사례 간 분석을 수행하였다. 분석결과 3개의 주제영역과 11개의 소주제, 그리고 28개의 핵심개념을 도출하였다. 연구결과, 학업중단 청소년들은 학업 중단 이전에 ‘학업지속 의지를 방해하는 주변 환경’, 학업중단 초기에는 ‘울타리가 없는 홀로서기의 시작’, 학업중단 후 진로과정은 ‘나만의 길 찾기; 승리’로 개념화되었다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 첫째, 학업 중단을 고민하고 있는 잠재적 학교 밖 청소년들에 대한 상담 및 교육적 중재로 가정의 상담과 복지의 병합 지원과 학업중단의 예방프로그램의 활성화가 필요하다. 둘째, 학교 밖 청소년들의 대학 진학, 취업을 위해 상담 및 교육적 중재 방향으로 진로적응성을 높일 수 있는 프로그램 개발이 필요하다. 마지막으로 다양한 검정고시 대학진학 전형과 재정적 지원을 모색해야 함을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study was to conduct an in-depth investigation into school discontinuation and college entrance experience of out-of-school adolescents with high career adaptability, thereby finding measures to provide them with educational and financial support. For this study, in-depth interviews were conducted with 4 research participants in order to collect data. The collected data underwent within-case and cross-case analyses using a qualitative case study method. As a result, 3 subject areas, 11 lower-level subjects, and 28 core concepts were derived. The study shows that the career process of adolescents that discontinued their schooling experienced were conceptualized in three stages which is " the surrounding circumstances " before school discontinuation, " the start of standing on my own without a fence " the time to determine school discontinuation, and " finding my own path ; victory " after school discontinuation. Based on the presented research results, the following suggestions are made ; Firstly, the combined support of family counselling and welfare as well as school dropout prevention programs should be facilitated as counselling and educational interventions for potential out-of-school adolescents who consider school discontinuation. Secondly, programs that can increase the career adaptability of out-of-school adolescents in a direction that implements counselling and educational interventions should be developed to help them enter colleges and find job. Lastly, various qualification examinations for college entrance and financial support measures should be prepared.
