목적: 라식수술과 스마일수술을 시행한 환자에서 수술 전과 수술 후 초기의 대비감도를 비교해보고자 하였다. 대상과 방법: 2019년 2월부터 2019년 4월까지 라식수술을 받은 환자 20명, 스마일수술을 받은 환자 21명을 대상으로 수술 전, 수술 1일 후, 수술 1주 후, 수술 한 달 후의 눈부심 유무와 명소시, 암소시 조건에 따른 대비감도를 비교하였다. 결과: 수술 후 1일째 모든 조건의 1.6, 1, 0.64 cycle per degree (이하 cpd)에서 라식수술군이 스마일수술군보다 대비감도가 더 좋았고, 수술 후 1주째에 눈부심 있는 명소시의 1.6, 1, 0.64 cpd, 눈부심 없는 명소시의 1, 0.64 cpd, 눈부심과 관계없는 암소시의 2.5, 1.6, 0.64 cpd에서 라식수술군의 대비감도가 더 좋았다(p<0.05). 경과 관찰에 따른 대비감도의 변화를 비교하였을 라식수술군은 수술 후 1주째의 대비감도가 가장 좋았고, 스마일수술군은 수술 후 1일째 대비감도가 가장 좋지 않았다. 결론: 라식수술군이 스마일수술군에 비해 수술 후 1일째, 1주째의 대비감도가 좋았으나 한 달째에는 두 군 간의 차이가 없었다. 라식수술군은 수술 후 1주째에 가장 대비감도가 좋았고, 스마일수술군은 수술 후 1일째에 가장 대비감도가 좋지 않았다가 점차 회복되었다.
Purpose: To compare contrast sensitivity before and after surgery in patients who underwent laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) and small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE). Methods: From February 2019 to April 2019, 20 patients who underwent LASIK, and 21 who underwent SMILE, were compared before, one day, one week, and one month after surgery. Results: On postoperative day (POD) 1, contrast sensitivity was better in the LASIK group than in the SMILE group under all conditions for 1.6, 1, and 0.64 cycles per degree (cpd). One week after surgery, the contrast sensitivity of the LASIK group was better than that of the SMILE group under photopic conditions with glare for 1.6, 1, and 0.64 cpd, under photopic conditions without glare for 1 and 0.64 cpd, and under all scotopic conditions for 2.5, 1.6, and 0.64 cpd (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups, except under the scotopic conditions without glare for 0.64 cpd at one month after surgery. In the LASIK group, the contrast sensitivity was best at one week after surgery. The SMILE group showed the poorest contrast sensitivity on POD 1, but this gradually improved. Conclusions: The LASIK group had better contrast sensitivity on one day and one week after surgery than the SMILE group, but there was no significant difference at one month after surgery. In the LASIK group, the contrast sensitivity was best at one week after surgery. In the SMILE group, the contrast sensitivity was worst on POD 1.
