한국 방송에서 기념극은 주로 역사적 사건이나 인물을 기념하기 위한 특정한 목적의식을 가지고 오랫동안 지속되어왔다. 기념일과 기념 의례는 해마다 같은 사건이나 인물을 기념하는 행위를 통해 개인을 국민으로 호명하고 참여하게 함으로써 동일한 운명 공동체라는 의식을 각인시킨다. 그 중 3ㆍ1운동 특집극은 각 방송사가 추구해온 기념일에 대한 기획 방식의 역사를 짐작해볼 수 있다. 3ㆍ1운동은 역사적 사실을 재현하는 다큐멘터리 드라마에서 주요한 에피소드로 소환되어 반복적으로 대중의 기억을 환기시켰다. 이 글은 다큐멘터리 드라마에서 재현된 3ㆍ1운동 전후의 기억에 주목하고자 한다. 역사 다큐멘터리 드라마의 유행을 선도했던 동아 방송(DBS)의 <여명 80년>이 시도한 3ㆍ1운동의 관련 에피소드를 살펴보았다. 다큐멘터리 드라마 <여명 80년>은 기록과 증언을 활용하여 역사적 사실을 극화하는 전략적 구성을 취하고 있다. <여명 80년>은 1960년대 국가 주도형 기념일로서 3ㆍ1운동이 기억되는 분위기에서 방송되었다. <여명 80년>이 재현하고 있는 3ㆍ1운동 전후의 역사적 사건의 진행, 증언과 기록은 공동의 기억으로 3ㆍ1운동을 재생하고자 하는 이 시기 정치적 열망이 내재되어 있다. 3ㆍ1운동 기념식이 국가 공적 행사로 제한적 이벤트에 그쳤다고 한다면, <여명 80년>은 공동의 기억을 생산하는 데 대중적 파급력이 컸다.
In Korean broadcasting, commemorative dramas have long been created with a sense of specific purpose, mainly to commemorate historical events or figures. Each year, a rite of the anniversary and celebrate events or figures, such as the individual people called and involvement of community, by the same fate. A sense of burning. The March 1 Independence Movement special drama shows the history of planning for anniversaries that have been pursued by each broadcasting company. This movement was regarded as a major episode in a documentary drama that reproduces historical facts, repeatedly evoking public memory. This article focuses on the memories before and after the movement, which were reproduced in a documentary drama. We looked at the related episodes of the same, attempted by DBS’s <여명 80년> that led the trend of historical documentary dramas. The documentary drama <여명 80년> takes a strategic form to dramatize historical facts using records and testimony. The 80th Year of the Dawn was a state-led anniversary in the 1960s, and it aired in an atmosphere wherein the March 1 movement was remembered. The progress, testimony, and records of historical events before and after the movement, being reproduced by <여명 80년>, embodies the political aspirations of this period to revive the March 1 Independence Movement as a common memory. If this movement was only a limited event as a national public event, <여명 80년> had a huge public impact on producing common memories.
