이 연구는 현직 배구 지도자들의 선수 지도전략을 탐색하여 배구지도자의 전문성 제고를 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 연구참여자는 연구 목적에 적합하도록 선수경력, 지도 경력 그리고 자신의 지도전략을 구체적인 사례를 통하여 이야기할 가능성이 높은 현직 배구 감독 5명으로 선정하였다. 자료수집은 2019년 11월1일부터 12월 13일까지 6주에 걸쳐 심층면담을 통하여 이루어졌고, 수집된 자료를 전사, 주제별 부호화(coding)과정을 거쳐 귀납적 범주분석을 통하여 결과를 도출하였다. 연구결과, 연구참여자들의 배구 지도전략은 ‘자율성-스스로 답을 찾아라', ‘공유-신뢰형성', ‘상담자', ‘팀중심' , ‘단호한 판단' 등으로 도출되었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 배구지도자의 전문성 제고를 위한 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스포츠에서 요구되는 전문성(professionalism)의 개념적 연구가 필요하다. 둘째, 지도자역량 강화를 위한 교육방법 개발이 필요하다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the volleyball leaders' leadership strategy in a reflective way to enhance the professionalism of volleyball leaders. To achieve this purpose, the research participants were selected as five current volleyball coaches who are likely to talk about their player career, coaching experience and coaching strategy through concrete examples. Data were collected through in-depth interviews for six weeks from November 1 to December 13, 2019, and the results were derived through inductive category analysis through transcription and coding by topic. As a result of the study, the strategy of volleyball guidance of the research participants was derived as 'find the answer with autonomy-self', 'share-trust formation', 'counselor', 'team-centered', and 'strong judgment'. Based on these results, the following suggestions are made to enhance the professionalism of volleyball instructors: First, conceptual research on professionalism required in sports is needed. Second, it is necessary to develop educational methods to strengthen the leadership capacity.
