This study analyzes the ripple effects of Chinese tourists decline on the Korean economy due to the deployment of THAAD(Terminal High Altitude Area Defense). First, the demand function for Chinese tourists in Korea was estimated, and the decrease in Chinese tourists due to the deployment of THAAD was analyzed. The estimated number of decreased Chinese tourists was at least 4.96 million. Therefore, if there were no conflicts between Korea-China relationship, it would have attracted 4.96 million Chinese tourists. The average expenditure per Chinese tourist was used to calculate the sales reduction by tourism sector. It can be estimated that the total amount of losses amounted to about 11.81 trillion won in tourism sectors. As a result of estimating the economic ripple effect due to the decrease in sales in the tourism sector through the input-output analysis, the total reduction in production due to the decrease in Chinese tourists was estimated to be about 25 trillion won, and the decrease in added value was estimated to be about 6 trillion won. It can be seen that the Korean tourism industry was heavily dependent on Chinese tourists, and the national economy suffered serious losses due to a sharp drop in tourists.
