이 논문은 『世宗實錄』 「地理志」를 기준으로 磁器所가 등재된 경기도 郡縣의 입지 특징을 파악하여 경기도 자기소의 등재 기준을 추론한 것이다. 조선 정부는 전국에 걸쳐 139곳의 자기소를 마련했으나, 전국 모든 군현에 자기소가 등재되지는 않았다. 어떤 목적과 기준에 의해 자기소를 등재한 것이다. 당시 조선 정부의 전국 자기소 등재기준을 파악하기 위해서는 우선 道 단위로 접근할 필요가 있다. 특정 등재 기준은 전국에 걸쳐 적용했겠지만 지역의 특수성을 반영한 등재 기준도 분명 존재했을 것이기 때문이다. 경기도에는 廣州牧 등 10개 군현에 총 14개의 자기소가 등재되었다. 경기도 자기소는 대부분 경기도의 동쪽 절반에 해당하는 山地 군현에 자리한다. 이 지역은 대부분 숲이 많아 자기 제작이 용이하고, 조선 왕실이 講武場으로 자주 이용했다는 공통점이 있다. 조선 정부는 강무장 인근 주민들의 피해와 반발을 줄이기 위해 강무 때 필요한 물자를 해당 지방에 미리 준비했다. 다수의 강무 인원이 하루에도 몇 번씩 사용할 다량의 그릇 역시 반드시 사전에 갖추어야 할 물품이었을 것이다. 조선 정부는 강무장으로 사용한 군현에 자기소를 등재해서 필요한 그릇을 확보했던 것으로 보인다. 이러한 현상은 경기도와 왕실간의 특수성이 반영된 결과이자 경기도 자기소 등재 기준에 풍부한 땔감과 왕실의 중요행사 준비라는 요소가 반영되었음을 짐작케 한다.
This study deduces the location characteristics in local counties and prefectures(郡縣) of Gyeonggi province, which are recorded ceramics workshop known as Jagiso(磁器所) in 『The Annals of King Sejong(世宗實錄)』 and 「book of geography(地理志)」 thereby inferring the criteria of registration for Jagiso in Gyeonggi province. 139 kilns across the country in the early Joseon period. At this time, some kilns were registered as Jagiso. Some kilns were not so. As for the registration criteria of Jagiso in the whole country, there is a need to first grasp a situation in the unit of province(道). That is because even the registration criteria of having reflected regional particularity will definitely exist even though the specific registration of criteria may be applied across the country. In Gyeonggi province, totally 14 sites of Jagiso were registered in 10 local counties and prefectures such as Gwangjumok(廣州牧). Jagiso in Gyeonggi province is mostly situated in mountain area of corresponding to the eastern half of Gyeonggi province. This districts were used as great hunting ceremony field(講武場) by the royal family of Joseon. The Joseon government prepared beforehand for the necessary supplies during great hunting ceremony in the district in order to reduce damage and resistance of local residents living near the great hunting ceremony field. The Joseon government seems to have secured necessary bowls through recording Jagiso in local counties and prefectures of having been used as great hunting ceremony. This phenomenon is the result that was reflected distinct characteristics between Gyeonggi province and the royal family. In addition the registration criteria of Jagiso in Gyeonggi province can be understood in which even the correlation with the royal great hunting ceremony was reflected.
