The purpose of this study is to analyze the Leisure Value Systems of Chinese international students using Laddering techniques. In order to attain factors of value chain, a qualitative in-depth interview was conducted and drew the 9 factors of attributes, 8 of consequences, and 7 of values. For hard laddering consisted of a questionnaire survey was conducted targeting for 112 Chinese students and showed meaningful value factors and chains as follows. Final major leisure values were ‘a sense of accomplishment’, ‘self-satisfaction’, and ‘happiness’, and a major leisure value chain was ‘understand Korean culture’, ‘boost confidence, and ’a sense of accomplishment’. This study is meaningful in that it analyzed value system of leisure activity participants and suggests practical and academic implications of the college and local community adaptation for Chinese international students studying in Korea.
