이 연구의 목적은 출판사 ‘문학동네’에서 펴낸 다섯 권의 희곡집에 실린 9편의 희곡을 분석하고 평가하여 어린이희곡의 환상적 인물에 관해 고찰하는 데 있다. 연구 결과 환상적 인물의 유형은 다음과 같다. 첫째 ‘현실 고발형’ 인물 유형으로 <나를 데리러 온 고양이 부부>의 주인공 지은이 여기에 해당하며, 어린이들을 양육할 때 어린이의 본성과 행복을 기준으로 해야 한다는 의미가 있다. 둘째 ‘숨겨진 능력 발현형’ 인물 유형에는 <혀를 사 왔지>의 시원과 <돌 씹어 먹는 아이>의 연수, 《하루와 미요》의 강아지 하루와 고양이 미요가 있다. 어린이들은 이 인물 유형을 통해 사회에 존재하는 차이나 편견에 관해 성찰할 수 있다. 셋째 ‘바람직한 가치 추구형’ 인물 유형에는 <해리엇>의 주인공 찰리와 <짜장면 로켓 발사>의 주인공 성호, <콩이네 옆집이 수상하다!>의 주인공 콩이가 해당한다. 이 인물들은 자신이나 가족에 한정된 사랑보다 더 큰 범주의 사랑이나 바람직한 가치를 추구한다. 넷째, ‘개인의 선택 옹호형’ 인물 유형으로 <진짜 엄마 찾기 대회>의 주인공 성호가 있다. 이 인물은 자기보다 엄마의 선택을 존중하고, 자신을 끊임없이 성찰하는 인물 유형이다. 어린이들은 어린이희곡에 등장하는 여러 환상적 인물을 통해 현실에서 만나기 어려운 인물을 살피고 소통하는 가운데 자기 인간관과 인생관이 성장하고 발전할 수 있다.

In this article, I analyzed and evaluated nine plays in five playbooks published by ‘Munhakdongne(Literature Village)’, a publishing company, to explore the characters of children’s plays. The study found that the types of fantastic characters are as follows. The First Type of character who is accused of reality is Ji-eun. The main character of 〈The Cat Couple who came to pick me up> said that she insists on raising children based on their nature and happiness. The second type of character is ‘hidden personality vocabulary’, which includes the main character of <Bought a Hook> and <A Child Who eats stone>. The author evaluated such children as giving them a chance to reflect on the differences and prejudices that exist in society. The third type of ‘desirable value-seeking’ character is Charlie, the main character of <Harriet>, Sung-ho, the main character of <Jajangmyeon Rocket Launch> and Kong Yi, the main character of <The next door to the Kong Yi is suspicious!>. These figures were judged to be those who sought the desirable value of love in a larger category than love limited to themselves and their families. Fourth, there is Sung-ho, the main character of <The Real Mom Search Contest> as the type of ‘personal choice advocacy’ character. The character was rated as a type of child who respected his mother’s choice over himself and reflected on himself. It is expected that children will be able to grow and develop while looking at and communicating with people who are difficult to meet in real life through various fantastic characters in children’s plays.
