본 연구는 <옥루몽>의 산수 유람 대목에 나타난 삽입 한시의 독특함을 조명 하고자 했다. 해당 대목에는 세 가지 서로 다른 층위가 겹쳐져 있다. 우선 제1 층위는 유람이다. 자개봉을 올라 이곳저곳의 경치를 구경하는, 기본적인 뼈대 를 이루는 사건이다. 다른 층위를 모르는 상태라면 자개봉 유람은 산수를 유람 하다 신선의 자취를 쫓는 사건에 그친다. 제2 층위는 속임수와 유희다. 신선의 자취는 사실 강남홍과 벽성선이 신선을 가장하고 한시를 남겨 놓은 것에 불과 하다. 따라서 이 층위에서 보면 자개봉 유람은 여성 인물들의 장난과 속임수에 남성 인물들이 걸려든 사건이 된다. 제3 층위는 이 모든 것이 진짜 신선의 꿈이라는 심층의 사건이다. 이 층위에서 보면 모든 일은 주인공들이 신선의 신분으 로 천상계에서 꾸는 꿈속에서 벌어지는 사건이다. 삽입 한시는 첫째, 시각의 전 환을 유도해 이 세 가지의 층위를 하나로 아우르는 역할을 한다. 둘째, 삽입 한 시는 수수께끼 혹은 퍼즐과 같은 역할을 한다. 호기심을 유발하고 심지어 조각 으로 나뉘어 제시됨으로써 신선 가장 놀이에 독자를 참여하게 만든다. 셋째, 삽 입 한시는 여러 인물의 시선을 펼쳐놓아 상황을 다각도로 종합하는 기능을 한 다. 삽입 한시의 이와 같은 기능은 전기소설에서의 그것과는 상당히 달라 주목 을 요한다. 진지한 문제의식, 내면의 고독과 애상을 덜어낸 자리에 사건의 공교 한 구조화와 독자의 시선을 상정해 활용하는 소설적 발전을 담아내고 있는 것 이다.
This thesis enlightens the uniqueness and significance of Chinese poems interposed in landscape travels shown on Okrumong in the history of fiction writing. There are three layers in the landscape travel scene. The first layer is a landscape tour. Sightseeing after climbing the Ja-gae hill is a fundamental event that forms the groundwork. The party of sightseeing get curious about whether Taoist hermits really exist and try to retrace them. The second layer is made of deception and amusement. Considering this layer, the truth is that Gangnamhong and Byeok-sungson disguised as Taoist hermit and left the out Chinese poems. The third layer is a depth event where everything was a dream of the real Taoist hermit. At this layer, every incident just happened in dreams, which the main characters, in their capacity as Taoist hermits, made in heaven. The function of the inserted Chinese poems is first of all, playing the role of bringing all three layers together into one. Second, they act as riddles or puzzles. They arouse curiosity and even motivate readers to participate in the make-believe game of Taoist hermits by being presented segmentally. Third, the inserted Chinese poems emphasize the personality of each character and places them together from various angles. These functions need to be paid attention to because it is very different from them in Chuanchi. In a place where the consciousness of serious problems, inner solitude, and mourning are removed, it contains the elaborate structure of the case and the novel development that attracts the reader’s eyes.
