본 연구에서는 재외 한글 교육 기관에 대한 연구 동향을 분석하여 연구 및 정책을 위한 기초자료를마련하고자 한다. 이를 위해 지난 10년간 이루어진 총 52편의 관련 논문을 분석함으로써 그 동향을 살펴보았다. 연구결과 종교단체 운영 한글 교육기관 및 운영주체가 명시되지 않은 한글 교육기관을 대상으로, 특성, 학교운영, 교육실제에 관한 연구가 다양하게 이루어졌다. 특히 언어 특성, 현황 및 활성화 방안, 교수법, 교육과정, 교재에 관한연구가 집중적으로 수행되었으며, 문헌연구, 조사연구, 질적연구, 사례연구의 방법이 주제별로 사용되었다. 본 연구는각 주제별로 논문들을 심층 분석하고, 향후 연구 및 정책적 지원을 위한 시사점을 논의하였다.


The purpose of this study is to analyze the current situation and problems of Korean language education institutions in Overseas and to establish fundamental data for the research and the policy support for these institutions. To achieve this purpose, we selected 52 journal articles in Korea published from 2009 to 2018 by applying three inclusion criteria and three exclusion criteria and analyzed them based on a matrix-type analysis framework. The results of this study are as follows. The Korean language schools operated by religious groups or schools that do not disclose who is operating were most studied during the last 10 years. In the research topic, research on characteristics, school operation, and educational practices have been done variously. Especially, researches on language characteristics, current status and activation plan, teaching method, curriculum, and textbooks were conducted most frequently. While literature review, survey, qualitative study, and case study methods were used for every topic, experimental study method was not used. The studies of characteristics are mainly for the learners and used research study as their study methods. And the studies of the school operation and the education field are mainly for the teachers and the administrators and used qualitative study and the literature review as their methods. This study conducted an in-depth analysis of each topic and the implications were discussed for the future researches and the policy support based on the results.
