The purpose of this study is to improve the domestic camping site evaluation index by applying the concept of Recreation Opportunity Spectrum(ROS). We analyzed how the nine domestic and international evaluation indicators corresponded to the ROS criteria items. The results showed that most of the indicators included evaluation items for 'convenience facilities,' while those for 'accessibility' and 'natural environment' were included only in some of the evaluation indicators. Accordingly, this study presented four ROS application methods to improve the evaluation index of camping sites in Korea. In particular, the weighting method that can be applied according to the division between 'Semi-Primitive' and 'modern' region is expected to help to provide accurate information without bias to various camping consumers in the future
