Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine factors influencing on cultrual competency among nurses of multicultural acceptability, transcultural self-efficacy. Methods: The research design for this study was a descriptive survey using convenience sampling. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaire of 136 nurses in Daegu Metropolitan City. Collected data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation analysis, step-wise multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 21.0 Program. Results: Total mean scores of multicultural acceptability was 4.24 ± 0.51 out of possible 6, Total mean scores of transcultural self-efficacy was 2.65 ± 0.35 out of possible 4, Total mean scores of cultural competence was 5.04 ± 0.71 out of possible 7. Cultural competence was showed significantly positive correlation with multicultural acceptability (r = 0.61, p< 0.001), transcultural self-efficacy (r = 0.71, p< 0.001). In the step-wise multiple regression analysis, transcultural self-efficacy, age, multicultural acceptability, participating multicultural education were significant predictors and explained 61.2% of cultural competency. Conclusions: The results of this study showed that multicultural acceptability and transcultural self-efficacy are significant factors affecting the cultural competence of nurses. The findings suggest a need to development cultural competence education programs in order to improve multicultural acceptability and transcultural self-efficacy for nurse.
