본 연구는 영국과 북미에서 일어난 선교적 교회 운동에 대한 연구이다. 특별히 영국의 GOC 운동과 북미의 GOCN 운동이 담고 있는 신교신학과 교회론을 중점으로 연구하고 한국적 상황에 적용하였다. 이 두 운동이 지향하는 선교신학은 교회는 궁극적으로 하나님의 존재와 활동에 뿌리를 두어야 하고 무엇보다도 하나님의 백성이며 하나님이 모으셨고 하나님의 영광을 위하여 하나님을 섬길 의무를 지니고 있음을 인식해야 하고, 교회의 영속적이고 진정한 삶의 방향은 선교 있음을 강조한다. 현재 한국 교회는 안팎으로 어려움에 직면해 있다. 자정 능력을 잃고 표류하고 있다. 또한 크고 작은 문제들 즉 교회 세습, 목회자의 윤리적 붕괴, 비성경적 은사주의, 물질주의, 성공신화, 번영신앙 등이 교회 안에 거침없이 유입해 들어와 교회를 좌초시키고 있다. 이런 입장에서 GOC와 GOCN의 선교신학과 교회론 연구를 통해 한국 교회의 문제점을 분석하고 한국적 상황에서 선교적 교회 운동의 나아길 방향과 목표를 새롭게 모색했다. 선교적 교회는 교회 사역의 행위에 근거를 두는 것이 아니라 교회의 존재 목적과 삶에 근거를 두고 삼위일체 하나님의 선교를 수행해 가는 하나님의 선교적 도구요, 주창자이다.
This article is a study about missional church movement in England and North America. In particular, the study is focused on the mission theology and the ecclesiastical theory of GOC movement in the United Kingdom and GOCN movement in North America. Currently, the Korean church faces serious problems internally and externally. The church is drifting and losing its resilience. Big and small problems in church include: breakdown of church community, immorality of pastors, unbiblical charism, materialism, success-oriented faith. These intrude and strand the church. The church is missing the purpose of God’s establishment of church in the world. With missional movements of the West, we have analyzed problems of Korean churches and have been looking for a new direction and goal for Korean church and culture.
