The Korean particle ‘-ina’ is the one that adds a special meaning to the actions of the preceding noun phrase or sentence. In this paper, we examined the semantic characteristics of ‘-ina’ and the limitations of its use, and proposed a way of how well to educate ‘-ina’ in Korean language textbooks. ‘-ina’ is used to describe a light plan that would not burden the audience. and used by the speaker to make suggestions to the listener that he believes are appropriate for the common situation between the speaker and the listener. Because it is a proposal that does not burden listeners, it appears to be an offer of low degree of activity in criticality. ‘-ina’ is also used when a speaker makes an offer that runs counter to the other person’s behavior or situation. Even though a proposal without a burden, it can be disrespectful to the other party because the speaker considers the other party‘s situation or behavior to be inappropriate and suggests other actions. These meaningful and useful features of ‘-ina’ should also apply to Korean language education.
