본 연구에서는 장애인 문화예술교육의 중요성을 강조하고, 일본 하나아트센터와 수원 에이블 아트센터 두 사례의 현황 및 특징을 분석하여, 향후 장애인 문화예술교육의 운영 방안에 관한 시사점을 도출하였다. 본 연구를 수행하기 위하여 두 사례 현장을 직접 방문하여 살펴보고, 교육과정에 참여한 관계자와 심층면담을 진행하였다. 먼저 2018년 12월 19일 수원 에이블 아트센터를 방문하여 대표이사와 1차 심층면담을 진행하였고, 이후 2019년 2월 20일 일본 나라시에 위치한 하나아트센터를 방문하여 큐레이터와 2차 심층면담을 진행하였다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구를 요약하고, 시사점을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장애인 문화예술교육을 단순한 복지차원에서 접근하는 것이 아니라, 편견 없이 장애 예술인들로 성장할 수 있도록 사회적 인식 개선이 필요하다. 둘째, 장애인 문화예술교육이 지속가능하기 위해서는 장애 예술인들에게 울타리가 되어줄 수 있는 전문성을 가진 교육기관과 인력들을 양성해야 한다. 셋째, 장애인들의 예술 공간은 단순한 시설이 아니라 새로운 커뮤니티 공간으로 확산되어야 한다. 넷째, 문화예술교육에 참여한 장애인들의 개성 존중을 바탕으로, 그들이 예술인으로 성장할 수 있는 자립형 모델이 구축되어야 한다. 마지막으로, 장애인 문화예술교육과 관련된 현황 및 실태를 파악하는 연구들이 수행되어야 하며, 유관 기관들의 네트워크 구축이 선행되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 장애인 문화예술교육의 방향성을 제시함으로써 문화예술교육, 문화상품, 문화산업 등의 학술 연구와 교육 현장에 기초 자료를 제공하는데 시사점을 가지고 있다.
This study emphasized the importance of culture and art education for the disabled and drew out implications for operation methods of future culture and art education of the disabled To this end, the researcher visited the scene in person and conducted an in-depth interview on participants in the curriculum. First, the researcher visited Suwon Able Art Center on Dec 19, 2018 and conducted the 1st in-depth interview on representative director, and visited Hana Art Center located in Nara, Japan on Feb 20, 2019 and conducted the 2nd in-depth interview on a curator. The researcher summarized this study based on the findings, and implications are as follows. First, improvement in social awareness is necessary for them to become the disabled artists without prejudice instead of approaching culture and art education for the disabled from the simple welfare level. Secondly, it is necessary to train educational institutions and human resources who can be the fence for disabled artists for culture and art education for the disabled to be sustainable. Thirdly, art space of the disabled needs to become widespread not just as a facility, but as a new community space. Fourthly, it is necessary to construct a self-supporting model for them to become artists by respecting individuality of the disabled who participated in culture and art education. Lastly, studies that identify the present condition and actual condition of culture and art education for the disabled need to be conducted preceded by the construction of interagency network. The implication of this study is in providing academic research on culture and art education, cultural product, and cultural industry and basic data to the educational sites by presenting direction of culture and art education for the disabled.
