This study aims to seek for antecedent factor, which is focused on cruise industry, to develop sustainable marine tourism. In the tourism industry, cruise tourism is expected to continue to grow as it combines diversity, comfort, entertainment and safety compared to traditional tourism. Cruise passengers are expected to increase to more than 39 million by 2027 and 106 of cruise vessels will launch over the next decade. With the rapid growth of the cruise tourism industry, cruise ships are becoming larger than 100,000 tons. Cruise ships, however, are emerging as a new source of pollution that produces large amounts of waste and pollutants. Therefore, this study is to examine the impact of environmental pollution on cruise tourism activities and to seek eco-friendly cruise tourism development plan to promote sustainable marine tourism. This study also suggests the way of sustainable cruise tourism as economics and social sustainability compared to pollution caused by existing tourism development.
