유치환의 『청마시초』(1939)를 중심으로 초기시를 고찰한 결과 다음과 같은 사실을 확인하였다. 첫째, 일제강점말기 많은 지식인들은 식민지 통치에 반대하여 해외로 진출하였고, 그들은 주권을 상실한 불행한 역사를 자기의 사상을 통해 복원하려했다. 그것을 대별하면 민족주의, 사회주의, 대동아주의이고, 본고가 고찰의 대상으로 삼은 아나키즘과 관련된 문인지식인은 신체호, 조명희, 박팔양, 유치환, 김광주 등이다. 둘째, 유치환과 『청마시초』를 고찰하는 것은 유치환이 일제강점기 국외조선인문학을 대표하는 재만 조선인시단의 중심에 있고, 『청마시초』는 그의 초기시의 사상적 배경을 작품을 통해 가늠할 수 있는 첫 시집으로 이 시집의 특성 확인이 유치환의 재만 시편의 정체를 탐색하는 단초 역할을 한다. 셋째, 『청마시초』는 첫 작품이 「박쥐」이고 마지막 작품은 「가마귀」이다. 이 시집은 이 두 짐승의 불길함과 죽음상징의 흑색 모티프가 양괄식으로 묶는다. 작품의 이런 배치는 불쾌한 짐승이 설치는 듯한 암담한 현실을 시집구성과 아나키의 사유를 통해 표상한 시적진실임이 드러났다. 또 ‘흑기연맹’에서 ‘흑풍회’까지 허다한 단체(24개)가 흑색으로 표상하던 결사정신과 닿는 미래부재의 식민지현실의 한 상징적 투영임을 확인했다. 넷째, 「정숙」, 「소리개」에 표상된 자유, 평등은 그 사상적 배경이 아나키즘과 연계된 사유의 결과이고, 『청마시초』의 표박의 포에지 역시 아나키 상태를 동경하는 시의식이 마침내 발견한 현실극복의 사유이다.
As a result of reviewing the early poetry of Yoo Chihwan which focused on Cheongmasicho, the following facts were confirmed. First, intellectuals of the late Japanese colonial period moved abroad in an act against colonial rule, and they struggled to restore the sovereignty of their nation through the background of their own ideas. Literary intellectuals related to the anarchism discussed in this article are Sin Cheho, Cho Meoanghee, Park Palyang, Yoo Chihwan, and Kim Kwangju. Secondly, the study of Yu Chihwan and Cheongmasicho is at the center of the Jaemanchoinsidan, which represents the humanities in the Japanese colonial period. The characterization of this poem is the first step for Yoo Chihwan to explore the identity of a poem written in Manchuria. Thirdly, the first poem in Cheongmasicho is ‘A Bat’, and the final work is 'A Crow. The arrangement of these beasts first and last is a poetic truth that expresses the dark reality in which unpleasant beasts appear to be installed through the composition of the poetry with a focus on thoughts of Anarchy. Fourth, the freedom and equality represented in Yoo Chihwan's 'Jeongsuk' and 'Sorige' are the result of ideological background connected with anarchism.
