The quality of our lives is improving due to the development of computers and IT technology. In recent, The 4th industrial revolution is rapidly proceeding according to the paradigm shift of IT technology. Software education is recognized as the core of the 4th industrial revolution. The software education will be a continuity program linked to curriculum of all ages. However, the number of existing liberal arts subjects is decreasing due to the decrease of university students. Especially, software lectures that are listened by non-IT students are also reduced. In this study, we examine how software education is progressing on 10 local flagship korean national universities. In the future, the university will have to worry about how to educate students who are educated in software education at schools. In addition, in order to grow current students into leaders who can lead the era of the fourth industrial revolution, all members of universities will have to think about how to educate software in a true sense, not just how to teach basic skills of computer in universities.
